Okay, so I still have my original remote with my philips TV.. and I did a side by side comparison.. 1. You will notice right away that there is no philips brand name on the remote 2. You will then notice you are missing a few buttons (can differ from TV to TV with different remotes) I’m missing the SAP button and the CC button which comes on the philips remote next to the home button near the center of the remote. 3. You will notice the colors of buttons are different like the Netflix button and VUDU button are both different coloring and you will notice the print of the letters is different.. 4. You will notice the color of buttons and the names of a few will be different though out the remote 5.where you see the colors on the remote labeled (RED,GREEN,YELLOW,BLUE) on the new amazon remote you will see (APP1,APP2,APP3,APP4) 6. No philips brand label on the remote, so if people know philips, They will know immediately it’s generic. 7. THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE The battery compartment has a bigger slide door and the batteries are side by side in the generic remote in the name brand philips remote the batteries go in straight behind each other. 8. WHERE THEY ARE MADE! Philips remote is made in Thailand Generic remote has no label of where it’s made, but being a copy with few changes.. sounds like a Chinese made knock off. But all in all the remote works, you don’t get all of the options like you do with the philips but it works good enough to turn on the TV and volume. So all and all it’s not that bad of a buy if these things don’t bother you.

I give this remote five stars for attention, this remote is only worth a half a star, it will break the first time it’s dropped from the couch/table, I’ve bought 3 of these remotes due to durability issues or the buttons will randomly stick and or not work properly, reasons to buy are the following: no setup, cheaper than others
