MUST READ this LEGENDARY BOOK
My father heard stories of hunting big cats, wild birds, wild boars etc from his grandfather (my great grandfather), who used to be a hunter in the sprawling tea garden jungles of Upper Assam. And THIS book along with "Man-Eaters of Kumaon" and "The Man-Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag" were part of his collection back in the 1950's. My dad read them as a young boy and has been fascinated by Indian wildlife, particularly big cats. He passed this interest to me and finally at the age of 30, I took the step to order the 3 books and I am so glad I did! It is a fantastic read. Jim Corbett's style of writing puts you next to him as he goes on his hunts in the regions of Kumaon in Uttarakhand. The style of writing is easy to read, even for early teens. Both the books - "Man-Eaters of Kumaon" and "The Temple Tiger And More Man-Eaters of Kumaon" are subdivided into different stories of different hunts. They have around 5-6 different hunts each bringing its own excitement and adventure for the reader to get drowned into.Quality of the book is good. I ordered the paperback version and the pages are thick and print quality is decent. I am extremely happy with the decision of buying these 3 books. I hope to one day pass them on to my children and grandchildren and keep the legacy of these great books alive in my family for generations to come!

An interesting account of man-eating tigers that wreaked havoc
I am someone who finds tigers as one of the majestic and sly creatures of the jungle. But when turned into man-eaters, I can't imagine the terror that they must be causing. Jim Corbett, through his book, narrates the interesting and scary experiences while hunting down these man-eaters down which give goosebumps, as well as laud Jim's courage. Any nature and wildlife lover would surely enjoy this book.

A gem in jungle literature....
A thoroughly nice read. I have read this book for the second time and enjoyed even more than my first read. This book I feel it's one of the best in jungle literature. A gem in the same. The book although deals with encounters and taking down of man wearing Tigers and leopards, this seems to be of secondary. Primary are the beauty of Indian jungle, the jungle folk and their lives.Best of the lot are the two, "Temple Tiger" this is the story of an encounter with a Tiger, that was told to be the blessed one by the mother Goddess, and who was no man eater. The chase of man to the tiger and Tiger to the man remained a drawn game. The last one, "The Talla Des man eater" is the story of a land tigress that killed humans after being invalidated at early age. This is one incredible great of chase in data and nights. Tracking on a injured man eater on foot. Incredible and gripping read.

Nature, People and Lore
The book is a masterpiece in its own kind. The rich flora and fauna of uttarakhand and the hardships faced by the natives in the region of man eating tiger are described by the author very beautifully.
