Wow. What a piece of furniture. It's discreet, fashionable and very practical.

I have wasted days after days trying to get the VAT refund on this item. I have even physically written to Amazon with all relevant paperwork and I have sent 2 emails with the relevant paperwork. Still no refund, not even an acknowledgement. What else can I do to get the VAT refund I am entitled to? The item itself is fine, looks good and is stable and hygienic. However trying to get a VAT refund from Amazon is like getting blood out of a stone.

Nice quality and hides away it’s purpose well, for a commode it really is a nice piece of furniture, well impressed!

This was bought for myself while recovering from a back that went out and I was having difficulty getting out of bed and struggling with stairs as our toilet is down stairs. It does not look like a commode as it is lovely with the seat pad down on it and is used as a bedroom chair. Reminded me very much of the old basket furniture my grandparents had in their bedroom. The bucket of the commode is comfy to sit on and holds plenty and it has a lid to sit on it so it is covered and no smells can escape. Well worth the money my husband paid for it.

This discreet and stylish commode chair allows Mumzie (85 years young) to feel at ease with having a 'toilet in her bedroom' and 'having the cleaner see it'. I cannot stress enough how greatly it has reduced the possiblity of a fall at night time (as Mumzie prefers independent living in her own home), as she previously stumbled half asleep trying to get to the bathroom with her stick and occasionally slipped and fell, as she is in need of using the toilet facilities frequently. Easy to clean, the plastic wicker effect makes this commode light weight and attractive to look at, and its strong, square frame ensures it will not topple over easily when in use (- we have placed the commode between Mumzie's bedside cabinet and the bedroom wall so that it cannot tilt sideways - just to be doubly sure). The commode inner container is easy to remove, replace and clean, and when not in use the plastic foam-baked seat cover ensures it looks like a normal stylish bedroom chair. Had the commode for four years now, which is in frequent use each night but looks as good as new. Would highly recommend.

Having recently injured my right thigh muscle and unable to put weight on it for a couple of days, I scanned the net once more to look for the optimum solution to go pee during the night. On top of a reduced mobility due to a neurological condition, it is the 3rd or 4th time over the 2-3 recent years that I have had injuries preventing me to walk to a toilet at night. Having tried a sheewee type system for women that is tricky to use sitting on the edge of the bed or even worse, an adult nappy, what a relief to find this chair!! All the commodes out there are so ugly and 'medical' and.... worst of all, depressing but THIS, what a lovely little chair..! The sad part is that it is so pricey and to my opinion overpriced but the cost of a stress-free life for me is invaluable and this chair will probably last me a lifetime. And if I ever get too tired one day to trek to my bathroom at night, this will be my life-savior every night... And when not in use, what a perfect and cute little chair for my teddies and shawls in my bedroom. And no one would ever guess it is a commode...!

I disagree when people say it's flimsy, it isn't. But, I am a size 16 woman and it is very snug. Can't imagine that anyone larger would fit in espescially when it comes to wiping oneself. As for the bucket, I tolerate it. Would prefer a conventional round one with normal round lid. Having said that, the commode is okay and is well made. Looks ok in the bedroom. Don't let yourself be put off by bad comments.
