For years I had a battery powered wine vacuum sealer. It worked OK, but changing the batteries became a monthly chore.This hand-pump vacuum sealer works much better, and takes away the need to replace batteries.I've been using it for about two weeks on bottles of red wine. Red wine doesn't usually hold up well in overnight storage. But this sealer has kept every bottle fresh, good-as-new, until the next day.A bottle of red never lasts more than 2 days in my house, so I can only speak to the one-night storage.I'm glad I have this. Now I have a great gift idea for my friends who love red wine.

The metal and plastic cap where falling apart. And we you them only one's????? I have made a picture for you but i really don't know howe should send it to you to prove my problem. I believe in the product that is why I bought 5 pieces. These little stoppers will hold red wine for 3 to 5 days without noticeable oxidation unless you have a more sophisticated pallet than I. However, don't count on being able to set the date, the core of the unit slips inside the bottle and it won't turn easily. Also, be sure to pump ALL of the air out. Ignore the instruction to pump until you see the date. Keep pumping until no more air is expelled when you press down. Then, pump it again at least every other day to keep the air out. Do this and most people will finish the bottle before it oxidizes.

Just used this item for the 2nd time last night on our 2nd bottle of wine since buying it. The ability to change the date window by turning no longer works!! Worked one time on first bottle of wine, 2nd bottle... no go. Tried removing the stopper from the bottle and redoing 3 times....no go. Disappointed! Send me another and I will give it a try....but at this point why buy a stopper with a date field if it doesn't work.

Works great. Recommend adding a few extra pumps on the days following to ensure freshness, only because this is a personal preference and not necessarily anything to do with the quality of the product.

Mine separated between the metal outer lining and inner plastic assembly similar to what others have posted. The assembly is simply glued to the metal casing so it quickly wears out. This is obviously a design flaw. If you are considering this product, DO NOT BUY IT. You will be disappointed. The manufacturer needs to do a better job of securing the two components together for this be last.

I've used this one a few bottles and even though it works decently for a sealer to prevent leaks, I didn't find it particular good are preserving the taste of the wine. There are probably better options.
