Works for half size increases very well.
Ok, here we go. I have been dying to do this review... I have a ring that is size 7. I have a ring finger that is a size 6-6.5 and a middle finger that is a 7.5. I need to up the size of the ring or reduce it but either way it doesn't fit. $30 to enlarge (or reduce) it professionally by resizing or $15 to reduce it with "plastic". Interesting concept so I figured... what have I got to lose. I have other rings that are 1/2 sizes to big also.Well, I got the product and read the directions carefully. I bent the hanging hook up and anchored the card under a heavy book for extra stability. I opened the can and peeled back the film and looked at the contents. Relatively clear and sticky... hmm, ok. I took the ring but the face in my thumb and middle finger and dipped about 1/2 way in and sort of scooped it forward. I got a good glob on the inside and coated the outside. I checked to make sure the edges were covered and hung it on the hook. Now here is where I think people get into trouble. I left it alone for 2 days. When I got home from my weekend vacation I looked at it and it seemed flat inside. No glob at all. It had settled into a well. I put the ring on and felt the texture of the the product. It has a certain kind of rubbery texture that seems to give it some gripping power. Still, it is a little big so I dipped it again. Instructions say you can so here we go again. I followed the same procedure and waited 24hours. I put the ring on this morning and it isn't tight and has that rubbery gripping power and is kind of comfortable. I can dip it again but I am happy right here. Now, you don't want to go rubbing on the edges because they will come up and will be rubbery ( I think the name of "plastic" they use is a bit of a misnomer) If you wash your hands, the ring will feel a little slick. Just take the ring off and dry your hands well and put it back on- no problem. I think this might last for a bunch of wearings. I don't intend to wear it every day. This is just a right hand ring anyway. I have lots of them. I have included pictures so you can see what this stuff looks like. You can see that there is no mess on the front of the ring. You can also see that if rubbed it will peel up a bit but I think in a few weeks after wearing it a few times I will just redip or peel the current coat off and redo the application. I hope you like this product. I think it is kind of handy. I don't like the metal clips you can install in your ring because they can come loose and scratch you and the plastic round things have a habit of falling out when I take the ring off or the ring slides in a circle on my finger. I hope this helps some of the unhappy people too. Try it again and see if it works better.

Worked very well for our needs.
I purchased this for my daughter who has tried other methods to reduce the size of a favorite ring. She has tried the plastic ring sizing tubes, but they just popped off, as did her ring. Her latest attempt was just to wrap string around the ring, but that had worn through and she was looking for something a little more attractive than a wad of dirt attracting string. We tried dipping her ring in the DipSize over the recent holiday. We needed to reduce her ring quite a bit, 2 sizes at least. It does say to wait 30 minutes between dips, and we dipped the ring 5 times...which means it took us over 2 1/2 hours just to get it small enough. When she finally tried it on 30 minutes after the 5th dip, the center was still soft and not fully dried. But she was able to see that we had the fit close to where she would like it so she let it dry for the recommended 8 hours, which was essentially overnight. This has seemed to work very well for her needs and she has been happy with it so far. It's only been 2 weeks though, so we'll see. Here are some things you may want to consider:1) We had to guess at the number of dips required to reduce the size. We needed to reduce her ring quite a bit.2) It is very time consuming. You need to give it at least 30 minutes between dips and then 8 hours to fully dry. Also, you really shouldn't try it on while it's still wet so after all of that, if you need it smaller, you may have to do it all again and wait another 8 hours to fully dry.3) The smell of the liquid plastic is VERY strong. Use in a WELL ventilated area. It doesn't smell when fully dry though, which is good.4) It comes with a small piece of Glad brand "Press 'n Seal" plastic wrap and recommends you replace it with a fresh piece after each use.5) It dries to a cloudy, frosted finish. It is soft and comfortable and not visible from the top view.6) Clean the ring and let completely dry first before applying DipSize for best adherence.Overall, this has worked very well for our needs. She is very happy with it!

So far, So good
Opted to try this for reducing as the 'noodle' sizers are so unattractive. I had 10 rings that needed sizing down, from a 1/2 size to a bit more than a full size. Following directions- I cleaned all my rings, I opted to use rubbing alcohol to ensure all traces of oil/residue were gone, and dipped- allowing at least 30 minutes between 'layers'- NOTE: First, if you have a ring size 9 or more, you won't be able to dip into the small jar, also when the amount reduces in the jar, I opted to dip my rings by using tweezers to hold the ring tweezers while dipping them in after I ended up dropping a ring in jar and having to fish it out, covered in the substance. The results with 1/2 size are GREAT (so far, as can not attest to durability)- dip size is much less obvious to the eye when wearing the ring and also in my opinion more comfortable. My 3 rings that needed to be reduced a bit more than a full size are still big, as I ran out of product. At this time, I dipped them a total for 4 times and still a tad too loose. I will see how the product wears on my other rings before I make another purchase, and if it does well I will order more. All in all I have to say I'm really pleased with the product. Yes, there is a time factor in applying and allowing for dry time as opposed to just sticking a noodle on, but the result is as said, much for appealing to the eye and more comfortable.

Dries out before you can use much of it.
Liked it and it stayed on well, but found the next time I went back to use it it had hardened and was not usable, though I had followed the instructions to keep it in a dark place. Waste of money.
