Gutter Cleaner Applicator

Duck taped this gutter brush to a really long pole. I applied some Quick and Brite cleaner to the moistened pad. My pole was now at least 20’ long. Using my elbow Grease, right to left, left to right and then up and down scrubbing motions on the pole did the trick cleaning my nasty mold covered gutters. This brush form fitted the gutter and really worked! The quick and brite with my manual scrubbing effort was very successful. I’d buy it again.

If you imagine you'll be squirting a little cleaning solution on the pad, and effortlessly whisking away the grime, then you may need to adjust expectations. The applicator is relatively small, and it takes a little while to develop a technique to apply strokes that won't bind the applicator or cause it to try to flip over. But once you do, you'll find this product works quite well. Far better than climbing a ladder. I had to clean about 12 feet of gutters before I came up with a good technique. If the applicator were about twice as wide as it is, technique wouldn't be such an issue.It really helps to use a garden hose to thoroughly wet the gutter as you work. This will help loosen the grime, but more importantly, the water will serve as a lubricant so the applicator will move more freely across the gutter. If your gutter design has any concave creasing, you'll have to apply some pressure to make the applicator conform to those creases. That pressure can cause binding. Finding the right pressure takes a little practice. Be prepared to re-apply your cleaning solution to the applicator a little more often than you might expect. The combination of the applicator plus your garden hose will yield great results.I ended up putting a half-inch wooden dowel behind the applicator pad to make the pad conform a little better to the particular creases and curvature of my gutter design. This wasn't strictly necessarily, but I think it saved me a little strain as I didn't feel like I had to bear down so hard on the gutter to make it fit the curvature. Different gutter designs will yield different results.It is, overall, relatively well made. It's hard to say how long something like this will last, but after the completion of one job, I soaked the thing in a bucket of soapy water, and it shows no sign of any wear or damage. Again, it's not without flaws, but I'll use this any day of the week to avoid being 20 feet in the air on a ladder.

The connection to the pad is not firm and constantly got turned around. Maybe the engineers can make a solid connection vs a flexible one. Okay for first story was a real pain to do second story

I used the product last year, took all of two hours, got a company to come in this year, took them two days to do the job, They said they knew how, but watching them, was like a clown show. I would have allowed them to have used the Gutter Cleaner but it was more fun watching them, than doing that. It cost more for them to do it, but will use my Gutter Cleaner next time as it works great.

This product is flimsy for the price.

I saw this item on a TV home repair program. I wondered just how well it would work. I looked on line and bought it. To date I have not had the chance to use it because of very rainy weather here on the East coast. I'm looking forward to having the time to try it out.

Haven't had a chance to use yet but my stepson who is a window cleaner says it is a good product for cleaning the outside of the gutters.
