Light & Fresh
I splash some on before I shave with an electric razor and it helps glide the razor through faster. And a little after shaving is refreshing. It feels light and good for my skin. For those who like a lot of menthol or a lot of fragrance this isn’t it. It’s light on menthol and a subtle natural fragrance

Refreshing
Wonderful stuff! Refreshing, soothing, conditioning. No burn, but a nice cooling effect. Totally non-oily and not sticky. Leaves skin feeling clean and smooth.I love the fragrance which includes menthol, eucalyptus, lavender and a touch of camphor. Some say it has too much camphor and smells like vap-o-rub. I think Shave Tonic is more complex and pleasant than that (and I’m not a fan of camphor). There is an herbal component that balances the medicinal/astringent fragrance nicely.Great-looking glass bottle with a nice atomizer. I use the empties for other aftershave products.

It’s okay
Hubby is no complaints. I don’t love how it smells. Kinda funky but it works.

The best of these types of toics
I was sort of skeptical on this product but I have ended up really loving it. This is what I put on my face right after finishing. I tend to finish with an after shave lotion since I typically need something heavy duty. But his tonic really tightens up and heals/sooths my skin after shaving. Really love it, great scent, great feel on the skin. It is comparable to something like what Imperial makes, but this is one notch better (if not two). It is not as moisturizing like Lucky Tiger after shave tonic which has aloe. It basically cools, heals, and tightens the skin just right. I would prefer a different applicator, the spray nozzle is such that you lose control. A more simple shake lid would work better in my opinion. They suggest spraying it on a cool wash cloth, which is fine. But I prefer spraying it in my hands and putting it directly on the face. Gets more product directly on your skin. Smells great but the smell does not linger which allows you to choose your aftershave cologne or lotion. It can be expensive but I have found a large concentrated bottle that would certainly last you the year. Saw it this summer at Pasture Pharmacy in NYC.

The Holy Grail!
I have oily, sensitive skin. A hundred of the products I tried felt good going on, but felt like they made my face feel oilier/coated later in the day. The Baxter takes very little to go on, makes my skin feel cooler, relieves the burn (and I shave with a safety razor), the smell is nice but not overpowering, and feels great throughout the day. This is it for me, it’s everything I’ve asked for in a shave tonic. Try it, you will not be disappointed!

It works especially on course beards
I’m not a guy that buys a lot of excess shaving products. I don’t like shaving, and being retired I don’t have to. But I don’t want facial hair so I shave. Someone sent me a bottle of this product partly because they know of my shaving peccadilloes, and partly because my last name is Baxter and I was born and raised in California, so the name kind of fit. I shave twice a week and have a medium beard, meaning after a few days, it’s a scruffy grey sandpaper patch. Use this stuff as directed and the whiskers will melt with the razor stroke. The print is so small, I’ll abridge: Spray on a hot damp towel and rub on face (avoid eyes) before shaving. Apply with cold towel after shaving to close pores.

Too minty
It’s month and feels fresh on skin contact. Makes a great combo with shaving cream and a good pre and post shave. Will not be buying again though.
