Old Factory Scented Candles - Winter Wonderland - Decorative Aromatherapy - Handmade in The USA with Only The Best Fragrance Oils - 3 x 4-Ounce Soy Candles

UPDATE: I have come back in and updated my review due to two things; 1. As it turns out, I seem to be the only one who doesn't like two of these three scents. Although a few of my office visitors have shared my feelings, the majority LOVE these scents, so I don't want to mislead anyone with my apparently uncommon reaction to a couple of the scents. 2. When I voiced my dislike, the Seller did get back to me and nt only apologized for my dissatisfaction, but immediately shipped a new set of candles called "Happy Hour" which are awesome! So as for customer service, they nailed it. I am man enough to admit when I rush to judgement on a product or seller and more than willing to correct my earlier review. I do recommend this seller and these man candles. :-) <Original Review> We have been on the hunt for some awesome "man candles" with strong scents for a manly office. When we read about Old Factory's set of 3 candle scents titled "Man Cave", we had to try them. We have now burned all 3 of the candles for a few hours each and the results are in. We found ONE of the three candles to be Excellent. The candle titled "Leather" is a strong, rich, thick scent that envelops you when you enter the room. It's like entering into a very high end office filled with fine leather furniture, old leather. Very enjoyable. Each visitor that has come into the office while this candle is burning has complimented the aroma. As for the other two candles in this set, they were a definite FAIL for us. (Several opinions here in this office and all agree these 2 scents are weak and feminine.) The names of these 2 candles are Mahogany and Razors Edge. If the scent of these candles was as manly as the cool names, these would be a win. Sadly, they are not. Mahogany smells like an old pot of dead flowers (mix of dirt and flowers) and Razors Edge is like any generic soapy smelling candle you would buy at Walmart. Nothing manly or even unique. Just a fresh summer scent like any woman might select. NOT AT ALL A MANLY SCENT. When we envisioned manly candle scents, we had in mind, leather, pipe smoke, cigar, campfire, smoke, deep woods, etc. The only one of these Old Factory "Man Cave" candles that makes the cut is "Leather". If you can buy that scent alone, we recommend it. *NOTE* The only other word of caution we might give you is to manage your expectations as to the small size of these candles. They are 4 ounces and they burn fast. I'm not sure if they offer them in a larger size, but if so, do that. (For the Leather scent only) If I could give each of the candles a separate score, it would look like this: Leather: 4 stars Mahogany: 2 stars Razors Edge: 1 star (Only because there isn't a zero stars) Regarding their Customer Service: I did receive a very kind, generic "Thankyou" email after purchasing and then I also received another automated email a few days later reminding me to come here and review the product. Prior to coming to write this review, I did express our feelings about the 3 candles to whomever sits on the other side of their email box. We received a kind note back that essentially said only that each scent smells different to different noses. No offer to make good, swap out the ones we didn't like, etc. We were not expecting anything to be done nor do we feel entitled to such, as we have burned most of the candles. I guess we have gotten spoiled here on Amazon from Sellers who make every buyer pleased as punch with the buying experience and perhaps we were hoping they might do so here. No biggie. They are nice people and they have at least ONE candle we really enjoy! :-)

I'd buy again. Leather is very "one note" (it's leather, period) but exactly what I wanted -- seems difficult to find. Smells like a week-old leather jacket, or walking into a leather jacket store. I smell it at first after lighting it, then it "disappears" for a while ... and then suddenly I need to blow it out when I realize it's filled the (small) room and gotten a little too strong. I couldn't find another leather smell that was as fresh and "pure" as this. Other candles mentioning leather either combined leather scents with many other fragrances or had a "saddle leather" smell which I found too much like a horse / animal smell and not a clean leather jacket smell. Shaving cream (Straight Razor) scent is my favorite, and I even smell it on my flannel shirts, after I leave the building. It's burnt down the fastest because I have it lit the most, and I'd buy more of just this scent alone. It's also the most prominent when I open the door and walk into the room. Just a great feeling and makes it feel like "my room" which is awesome. Mahogany is sweet and more like a delicious, juicy fragrance ... I wasn't sure what to expect but it's not at all like a sawdust / fresh cut wood smell. I guess I was hoping for it to be more "wood" and less "does mahogany really smell like this?" but I like it just the same, especially for variety in the pack because it compliments the other two. Like I say, it's hard for me to associate this with mahogany exactly, but it's a pleasant smell and not overly "perfume-y" in my opinion. I have smelled other mahogany scents that have this "pretty" aspect of the wood instead of what I sort of hoped for; a fresh cut / sawdust type of scent, but I don't know much about candle scents so maybe that's not even a thing! :) ...I'd burn all three at once to get a "complex" smell (they are all fairly simple on their own). On the other hand I want them to last so I usually switch off every hour or so, to mark time. 5 Stars because of the low price. Other candles I considered were 3x more expensive for the same or fewer burn hours (assuming the listed burn hours are accurate). Keep in mind these are not very complex scents. About me: I am a 40+ male and use these candles in a small "man cave" type of room while composing music. I'm new to buying scented candles but these niche Man Cave candles have encouraged me to look for more.

I haven't burnt the candles yet so no report on the fragrance but I definitely was surprised by the small size of the candle. I will say however that the pictures do not necessarily misrepresent the size which is why I'm leaving a 3 star rating instead of a 2. Shame on me for not reading reviews of others who complained about the size as well. Updated to four stars- they smell great and are unique to what I can find in stores. Still a little over priced for their size. I doubt I would purchase again unless price drops to about $25 for the set.

These candles are very nice, but they are not worth the cost. They are very small and you will burn through them quickly. Here are our family's thoughts on the 3 scents: Balsam Fir: Smells great but is way too strong. Fills our entire townhome within minutes. Unfortunately this leads to an uneven melting of the candle as we can't keep it lit long enough to level. Leather: I love it, my fiance hates it. I find it very relaxing while I am working. It smells just like untreated rough leather, not like treated leather (saddles/boots/etc.). What is the other one? Seriously, it was so boring it doesn't even need a name. It had some sort of a very light generic "clean air" scent that you'd get from your grocery store candle, but nothing to write home about.

I burn all these at the same time and the scent is amazing! They don't burn down quickly and the scent fills a 400 sf room. Will definitely buy again.

If you cut the wick, they burn nice and slow. Very aromatic. Great packaging. Would make a great gift!

Enjoy the candles but one of them smells almost like latex. I mean several people have mentioned it during the holidays. They were alot smaller then I anticipated but that portion of the review is on me, clearly should have read in to it more

Smaller than expected. Cool scents, but not worth the price IMO.

gave them to our son for Christmas. he loves them. they are expensive, but worth it.
