First day impressions
Ok my dog is upper end of range on chest and mid range on weight for the large size.It fits him well. Any longer though and he would have problems peeing. So if you have a not so long dog you might need to modify and trim an inch or two offLooks comfortable enough to leave on all the time. My dog doesn’t mind clothes. Feels like quality fabric. We’ll see how it holds upThe handle unclips easily so he can walk around without it and we can clip on to get him up and down stairs.First Cary up stairs went well. He didn’t mind at all.A LOT easier than attempting to pick him up—he wiggles and legs go everywhere—in a panic. So this seems to be a lot less stress for himI need to play around with the handle strap adjustment to see what works best. A bit long was fine for me as I am tall. Adjusting for smaller and weaker members of the household will be the issue. The carrying position is a lot easier on my back than picking him up which requires poor and unsafe lifting posture. So I’m thrilled for nowOne month updateThis is great! Much easier getting him up and down stairs. He can help a little too. He wears it all the time. I have the straps adjusted real short and I tied up the excess strap material with a couple of hair ties so the handle strays on all the time and whenever he needs a lift it is quick and easy. He rarely rolls on his back so the handle isn’t in the way for him at all. Not sure if it would be a problem for a dog that likes to roll around a lot.The vest is very comfortable for him. It looks nice on him even with the handle attached. It has survived the first wash no problem (I let it air dry ). It seems pretty durable and well made. Thick material, no loose strings or trim, seems to be sewn well. I may consider getting a second one to make more frequent washing convenient, but it doesn’t seem to get dirty any faster than he does.My dog was apparently hit by a car early in his life and his back legs always worked a little goofy. Now that he is older some nerve degeneration and arthritis are making things more difficult. I got this when he sprained something back there, and he REALLY was having trouble and pain walking and climbing was out of the question. It has helped him with the acute problem which seems to have mostly healed nowPerhaps the only minor downside is that he expects to be assisted to get on the bed now and he tries less on his own, and whines for help when he knows someone is around.

Very nice and supportive harness
Fit was great and worked well for our dog relearning to walk after IVDD. It helps her to gain some independence back especially when needing to go potty.

Great device, some improvements needed
This jacket has been very helpful while our Pomeranian recovers from double knee surgery. We are able to clip the handle on to hoist him out to the potty area, up stairs, and in and out of his ex-pen then un-clip the handles. The only two issues I see are 1) the velcro is too sticky - I have to apply a lot of force to take the jacket off which isn’t great for a patient in pain and 2) the XS is still too big for an 8-lb dog - it’s too long underneath so he can’t pee with it on and the neck hole is so big he can slip his arms out through it. I also don’t understand why there are three sets of receiver clips on the jacket and only two sets of insertion clips on the handle. Overall a good tool for tiny dog recovery.

Surprisingly Efficient - Solid Product
First off - my disclaimer is this was purchased to assist with a 64lb, 16 yr old, rear end partially paralyzed female boxer mix.Use - The quality is very nice with durable stitching and material. I specifically waited until its first washing to confirm. The harness is put on front feet first over the belly with velcro closures on the back in two places. There are two sets of straps and three sets of possible strap placements based on sets of clips on the harness (one set at the front, one set in the middle and one set at the rear providing cross-over placement if wanted). After experimenting we found the best for us was putting the straps on each end (one of the front clips and one on the back clips) and adjusted evenly for equal support. This still allows us to supplement the end needed as she attempts to walk (she still likes to think she can move on her own and does a little 'hop' we have to compensate for).Pros - The harness provids the comfort we were wanting compared to the more robust harness we previously used daily. Comfort for the dog: front end support, less pressure on the upper chest/throat, less pressure on the back hips (bladder) and breathable. Comfort for us: less bending over for support while walking, manuvering up and down stairs, bathroom time and lifting into and out of her cart. The ease of adjustment was nice.Cons- turns out our girl needed a stronger support along the body since it tended to try and "bunch" with extended use (bathroom time can take a little while for her). We are debating putting support rods over the length of the back line to brace and prevent bunching when in use. The other thing to note is that if your pet is impaired with movement, this brace can be a pain to put on. In our case, our girl has a back end that lays to one side or the other and relies on supporting herself on her front end (her back end can move but can no longer lift or support her). This meant we would have to take her support away by one side at a time or flip her over to get it on comfortably. Let's just say she wasn't a fan of the process. The main con for us is this harness was not helpful for lifting her into or out of the vehicle nor onto anything above a foot or so in height. There was just no way to adjust the straps to be both efficient in assisting in movement and also assisting in lifting. Perhaps having the option for an additional strap that can be used on the middle clips would help solve this? A handle on the harness itself would be amazing. This did not change my rating because I had already concluded this would be a problem before purchase and it was confirmed with use after we experimented with strap placement).Overall we are happy with the purchase and would recommend this product or purchase again if needed.
