Works great on my 2001 Chevy S10/Blazer 4.3 vortec
This fan clutch works great on my 2001 chevy blazer. It also fits like OEM on my OEM waterpump shaft and my OEM stock fan. Took me 15 minutes to install. The fan to clutch torque spec is 24lb-ft.This fan is much louder than the stock fan. My old stock fan clutch finally went out after 22 years. This Hayden severe duty clutch keeps my engine from overheating on hot summer days when I let the car idle with the AC on. The temp gauge stays right at 195 all day long, when before with the worn out stock fan clutch, it used to creep upto 210 and beyond when idling for more than 10 minutes. I live in South Carolina and the heat in the summer is brutal, and it doesn’t really go below 32F in the winter, so this clutch really works great for me.When I do cold starts, the fan fully engages, but when I pull out of my neighborhood, the fan disengages and stays at 20-25% engagement just like the stock fan clutch would, so once you are moving it isn’t loud at all. When I stop in traffic, and get going again, the fan would stay engaged for a little bit until I go above 20-30mph, which is normal, since when your not moving, it needs more airflow to stay at the correct temp.If your fan stays engaged all the time with this fan clutch , you got a defective fan clutch. This fan clutch behaves like OEM. It’s just much louder when it needs to cool down the engine, and it’s only louder because there’s a lot more Airflow with this clutch. Stock clutch when fully engaged is about 55-60% of the waterpump speed, but this Hayden severe duty clutch is 70-80% when fully engaged.I am 100% satisfied with this clutch, and I would recommend this fan clutch as an OEM replacement.

Hayden Severe duty Fan Clutch
Excellent fan clutch. I put this in a 99 Silverado 4wd 5.3. It took about 15 min to put it in and worked great. I’m glad I went with the severe duty vs the HD. For all those comments about the noise it’s not that bad and it settles down in a few min after start up. I’d rather have the cooling than worry if I had enough fan for the high SC heat at stop lights and while towing in the NC Mtns. The Hayden fan clutch is the better one to use and is worth the few extra dollars. Hope this review helps those waffling about which fan clutch to use.

Gets the job done
Some reviews complain about the noise. It's really not that serious. Yes it's a little louder than normal but only for the first 5-8 min until the engine warms up then you can't hear it anymore. For the price and it's performance, I highly recommend this. My 03 Silverado doesn't overheat anymore.

Immediate Difference
Last summer, I had noticed the AC getting warmer while sitting at a light or in traffic. Since it's getting to be summer again, I ordered this fan clutch. Installation on my 2003 Avalanche with 5.3 liter V-8 was pretty straightforward, after I watched several YouTube videos. I work very slowly and it took me an hour and 45 minutes start to finish. When I started the engine, the difference was immediately evident. The initial roar of the fan turning is back. It had gone away with the gradual wear of the old fan clutch. Because of comments I saw here, I noted how long before the initial roar dies down. Two minutes. I'm glad I bought this heavier duty fan clutch. In the hot Texas summers, we need every advantage we can get.
