Remarkable resource reference
This book, along with the entire Interventions that Work DVD series, is a remarkable resource for any teacher or school determined to achieve literacy excellence. The rich portfolio of common sense, research-based approaches will help teachers understand lesson designs that can maximize our limited time with students. The emphasis on schoolwide coordination of efforts using a system of layered support allows teachers to flexibly adjust these rich options when we need to accelerate progress for students who need a more intensive design. The sheer genius of Interventions That Work is that the portfolio ensures that every teacher in the school building has access to the same proven instructional techniques. If schools spent less time looking for the "perfect box" and more time building professional expertise using a common toolbox of the flexible approaches so eloquently described in this book, we could close the achievement gap once and for all!

Dorn does it again! A must have!
If you are familiar with any of Dorn and Soffos books, this is a MUST HAVE! This book provides helpful interventions and ways to plan to help students through various stages when they are making academic gains. I would recommend this book for ANY special education teacher who works with students struggling with reading, any reading interventionist, SAT (RtI team) team, or any general education teacher who works with students who read below grade level. Although the book says for lower elementary school level, many of these interventions (with some minor adjustments) are appropriate for any kiddo who is reading significantly below grade level.

Better Bounds
I think this book has a lot to offer. Great tips and useful suggestions. I gave it a low rating, because I would avoid the Kindle version. You can't access the resource pages from the"cloud" reader to print, you can't make notes on appendix pages... I would recommend spending the extra few dollars and purchasing the hard cover.

Absolute read for elementary teachers and reading interventionist
Love this resource. Tools aligned with the theory to provide teachers necessary framework to support struggling learners. Built around the concept of "informing our practice".
