Honeywell Home 6160V Talking Alpha Display Keypad with Message Recording for Vista Systems

Background and reason I decided to get this keypad: We've had a Vista 20p for over eight years, which we originally installed with a 6160RF at the garage entry door, 5828V at the front door, and a Tuxedo Touch wi-fi in the master. We got the Tuxedo because it claimed to be very easy to use and would allow more advanced functions to be carried out more easily. That, and the automation, Z-wave, and ability to view camera, etc. Well, we never ended up using any of the automation stuff, and viewing cameras only works with specific Honeywell cameras, so that was useless. At some point, the keypad started rebooting any time I tried to enter wi-fi setup and over the years we found many other flaws with it, such as when a zone gets a low battery in the middle of the night, the Tuxedo would just keep repeating 'Armed Stay Instant', instead of providing the correct information. I decided to update the firmware the other day, which then sends it into initial setup and the first step is setting up wi-fi, which still causes it to reboot, so it's in an endless cycle now and non-functional.I decided to replace the Tuxedo with the 6160V and I must say I love it!! This keypad is simple to operate and has a beautiful, bright, backlit display that is very easy to read. Voice announcements are clear and the keypad is fast and very responsive. The status indicators are very visible from any angle, so it is very easy to see if the system is armed (or not) from anywhere in the room. I much prefer this keypad over the Tuxedo Touch, and I like that all our keypads look and operate exactly the same now. I specifically wanted the voice keypad for the master because it is so nice to hear the information, especially when you're in bed. I really wish Honeywell would make a 6160RF keypad with voice and still surprised that they don't. If they did, I would replace the main keypad downstairs with one.It was very easy to install and configure. You just have to make sure you program an address for it in the panel, and then set the keypad to that address.I highly recommend this keypad!

Programming was simple and straight forward. I added this to my Ademco 20P and it works very well. The volume is loud enough to be heard in another room.

Like it better than touch screen model

The product is very good when working. The first one voice? speaker went out after a few weeks. Hopefully the second lasts. Otherwise a great product.

I received a 6160VPADT keypad. I didn't know you could get ADT parts from Amazon. This was not the keypad advertised and not the one I wanted.
