Fireplace LED Light Up Ugly Christmas Sweater

My original sweater came just as advertised; ugly! It was a hit at the neighborhood Christmas party but when I wore it for a second night, I noticed the LED fireplace wasn’t lighting up all of the way. I discovered that the LED fireplace was damaged and I was lucky that it worked the first time. I contacted the seller and after a few back and forth emails, they sent me a new sweater! The new one looks better built and ready for the next Holiday season!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I wanted a light up sweater to wear for an annual Christmas paddle I lead during the Newport Harbor Christmas Light Parade. We deck the kayaks out with battery powered Christmas lights and this seemed like the perfect next step. And since my boat, vehicle, and a large amount of other things are all various shades of green this particular sweater caught my eye.It's a bit pricey but suitably well-made and warm though the small stockings may detach at some point since their just sewn on by the top. I'd had an idea to put little liquor bottles in the stockings but they're just the tiniest bit too small for that.The LED is a panel that is connected through a small hole in the middle of the fireplace. A ribbon strip plugs into a small battery pack which you'll need to stick in your pocket since there’s nothing to hold it under the sweater itself and it’s heavy enough to cause the cable to unplug if you drop it. There's a switch with two modes and a button which changes the light up pattern between a number of options. It's nice the electronics detach since in the event you need to wash it.As for the look the picture conveys it well. It makes a suitable impression.

Ordered with great excitement this, what I thought was the embodiment of an ugly Christmas sweater. Expectations did not match the product however. I will try to be as honest as possible.Fit: I am a large man, but I do not qualify for my own zip code by any means. I ordered a 3xl figuring it would have plenty of room. Nope. Very tight with very poor stitching.Quality and build: Very poor. Numerous areas where the stitching was uneven and loose. One of the stockings was sewn wrong and resembled a mitten with no thumb. The thick plastic fireplace overlay was not centered correctly.The led fireplace effect: wildly disappointing. If this was better I could have overlooked the other issues. The image of the flame unlit is red, yellow, and orange. It goes without saying that I expected the same when lit to complete the illusion of a roaring fire. Well for Halloween maybe! It lit up as follows, red then greenish, then almost a glow in the dark shade of off white.Perhaps I got the sweater destined for the island of misfit sweaters. Ordered based on photos and good reviews. Sorry to say this one did not come close to matching other’s experiences. Especially not for $60.The search continues.Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
