A Great Bike Rack!
This is a great bike rack for SUVs with rear door mounted spare tires. I've got a Toyota FJ Cruiser with a 32"x11" mud tire mounted on the rear and this rack will easily clear this large tire. Here's why I highly recommend this bike rack. First, it's CHEAP, well made and easy to put together and install. Second, there's a 19" hitch extender that's probably long enough to clear up to 35" spare tires mounted to a rear door. Third, the hitch extender is attached to your 2" hitch with a threaded hitch pin bolt that firmly secures the extender to the hitch, so that the extender doesn't move around. Fourth, there are also 2 large pinch bolts that securely attaches to the bottom of the rack at the other end of extender, so that the rack doesn't move around either; this setup is as "solid" as these things get. Fifth, you can choose to use the rack for one or 2 bikes, depending on your needs; ie., you don't have to install the extra hoops and locking mechanism for a 2nd bike if you only carry one bike like I do. Sixth, your bike(s) is (are) firmly attached to the rack and released with a simple padded ratchet mechanism; no need for tie downs for the wheels and/or handles. All you have to do is place the bike in the tire hoops (which are easily adjusted side to side with a tension nut) and then lower the ratchet mechanism on to the bike's cross bar until the bike is firmly secured and it doesn't matter if you have a straight or slanted cross bar, so no special crossbar attachments to the bike are required either. Seventh, you can get into the back of your SUV by removing the bikes and removing the pin in the center vertical locking bar which allows you to lower it to one side or the other. This isn't as convenient as the more expensive tilting or side arm set ups, but it's not as expensive as them either. Eighth, you don't have to lift and load the bikes up high on the car. The tire hoops are at the level of the hitch and aren't perched precariously high up on the roof or on the tire, which makes loading an unloading a breeze. Ninth, if you need to carry more than 2 bikes, there's an accessory that will allow you to carry 4. It doesn't get much better than this! BTW, I couldn't find a spare tire bike rack that would fit my 32x11" spare tire, so if you have a spare tire that large or larger don't even bother looking for a spare tire bike rack. There aren't any that will work for tires that large. They are for designed for regular passenger sized tires only.

Highly recommended Bike Rack!!
I decided to purchase this style of bike rack after searching the internet high and low for all different types of bike racks. To be honest I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and this style of bike rack, it is easy to use, holds the bikes securely, and safely. The reason I decided to go with the Swagman brand is because it is a very good value compare to other brand bike racks on the market that offer the same thing this rack does. Don’t pay hundreds of dollars more for a product that will do the same function! Pros: The first good thing about this product that comes to mind is the construction quality of this rack. It is built strong, stable, and built to last. I was surprised when I first received this rack at the sturdiness of it. The second good thing about this rack is the ease of installing it to you vehicle, it takes maybe 5 minutes to “install” or “remove” this rack from your vehicle. Very easy and straight forward on how to do this, basically you slide the rack into your received hitch, and then you insert the threaded bolt through one side of your receiver hitch and then push it to the other side and begin threading it into the other side. I will then general take a wrench and snug up the bolt, then place the cotter pin through the end if the bolt and you are done. The third good thing about this rack is how easy it is to load and unload the bikes from it. It takes literally 1 minute to unload 2 bikes from this rack, and then you are ready to ride. No having to install your front tire, or lift the bikes up or down from the top of your car or the bed of your truck, nope your simply release the tension on the bike and then remove it from the rack. Cons: The only thing I dislike about this rack is that it has to be folded down to access my tailgate when it is installed to my truck. And with bikes on the rack you are ether out of luck or you have to removed your bikes from the rack to access the tailgate. Overall this is not a huge deal and I think the benefit the rack provides far outweighs this small issue. Overall: I have been using this bike rack for 2 or 3 years now and have not had any issues at all and have never had a bike come loose, fail off, or anything like that. I ride just about every day and the trailers I ride are about 10 miles from my house so I have to load the bike up every time I want to go ride. That being said I don’t want to have to mess with lifting the bike on top of my truck every day, and I also don’t want to have to remove the front tire every single day. That is the biggest selling point for me with this rack is that I can load my bike on it in basically seconds, put a Masterlock on it so it is safe and secure and then I’m ready to go ride!! I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed with this purchase and it is a very nicely constructed rack that functions awesomely well!! Perfect rack for people like me who ride every day and don’t want to have to take the bike apart after each ride.

I use this on my F150 to move my race bikes around. Came well packed, simple to assemble, then slots in smoothly into my tow hitch. Highly recommend.

It was pretty easy to assemble and assembly is not what I am famous for. I found two good YouTube videos and watched those to see how it is done and that made it super easy. My first job was to remove my trailer hitch which had been left in for several years and would not come out. I did get it out in 25 minute with vinegar and a constant pounding with a 4 lb sledge hammer. I saw that method on YouTube and decided to give it a try even though I was a skeptic. Now I tried to mount two bikes for a test but I think I made a mistake with using the short or long hook on the wrong bike as on the second bike the hook could not go low enough to reach the cross bar as it got blocked by the first higher hook already installed on bike 1. I now realize one has to organize that. Once the bike rack is installed into the trailer hitch receiver and ready to use then it takes less than 30 seconds to lift the bike into the two wheel hoops and lower the hook on to the top cross bar. The first time one uses it, one has to adjust the hoops to fit your wheels. One can just slide them back and forth and then lock them down by a knob. Now for the same bike in the same slot that adjustment never has to be made again. I find that there is a bit of a wiggle at the top cross bar where the hook is looped over. So I just use a handy zip tie and tie the bar to the hoop and as such no give or wiggle. One could also zip tie the bottom of the wheels to the wheel hoops also. I use release zip ties that one does not need to cut off. Just press a tip and they are released and can be used over and over again. I spent several hours researching bike car racks and this type I found looked like the best and most easy way to go. The type that one has to lift high to meet a cross bar at the top and is connected by like a huge strap only works if the cross bar on the bike is straight. If not then one can not hang it up without buying a special straight bar adapter that goes from ones seat post to the front handle bar post. With this bike rack one does not need to buy anything extra to make it fit and also not lift the bike too high.. Have not yet actually driven the car with a bike in the rack but I feel confident all will be good.

Very impressed with this rack. It fits well on the 3 inch receiver on my hitch. No rattles or noises. With or without bikes I also bought the locking pin with braided cable to lock the bikes up on the rack. Extra security if stopping off somewhere before or after a ride. The only thing I would like to see is some reflective material on the rack. My car is dark grey. When I have no bikes on board it kind of blends in with the car. Someone not paying attention might not see it. I would recommend this product to my friends.
