Alaska Smokehouse Smoked Salmon Fillet in Wood Gift Box, Assorted Designs, 16 Oz

I saw a lot of bad reviews so I wasn't sure about ordering this for my Grandpa but it was very delicious. Typical smoked salmon that comes in a gold bag. Salty and fishy. I'm not sure what others expect but this was exactly what we wanted. Thank you Amazon!

Bought for my family for Christmas gifts. They loved it and said it was really good!

I'd like to give this a 5 star across the board but something lacked in the flavor department a bit. Although I did love the box it came in. I would say that this Salmon would definitely need some added seasoning or something.

I buy this delicious, yumminess as often as I can. We eat it in salads, stews, and on simple crackers with cream cheese. Try some. We're glad we did and continue to do so. There is an option to buy a beautifully designed reusable box with a filet, which I gave my nephew as a Christmas gift and he loved it. Including the decorated box. I highly recommend this company and their products.

I was very excited to send this to my sister and brother-in-law for Christmas as a special "extra" gift for them. When I flew back to Ohio in November I did not have time to stop and pick up some smoked salmon to take with me at the airport, so I decided to just send some for the holiday. Rather than send a small pack, I sprung for a larger size so they could share it with their sons who would be there visiting as well.I also chose this product as I like the box it came in as it seemed like this would be a great keepsake. The box ended up being the only successful aspect of the gift. I had not heard anything back from my sister about the gift which was odd since she raved about the fancy cookies, the mixed nut arrangement, but nothing about the smoked salmon (and I know they love this as we discussed this on numerous occasions).You have no idea how disappointed I was when she told me last weekend that she did not want to hurt my feelings, but the smoked salmon was terrible. In fact, nobody liked it and after two days they threw it away. They were not going to tell me, but they wanted to make sure I did not ever buy it for them as a gift again. The 5-year old liked the box though. Spending almost $50 for a box for a 5-year old is not a satisfactory gift.I will be giving it a think on what I can purchase to send to them to take the bad taste out of their mouth. I am a finicky eater, but these folks are not - they hunt and fish which is why I was floored at their response. I guess lesson learned on my part. I just ended up with my foot in my mouth and an empty pocket.

My friend loved it and was able to get a few meals out of it. She gives it 5 stars! Also really liked the box it came in.

This is really good and much bigger than I thought. We used it for 3 different meals for appetizers with 4 people so this could be used for a party of at least 8 or more for an appetizer. The wooden box is a really nice touch and makes this a great gift item too. I have purchased many smoked salmons off amazon before and I must say this is by far hands down the best I have had to date. I will be buying it again.. Oh one more thing the date code on the box I got was showing it good until 2018 so it's good to have around for a very long time before you open it.

This was a huge disappointment to me. I never leave bad reviews. I usually just don't review at all unless it's a good one. But tonight I'm changing my ways. I spent $30 per box as part of my homemade giftbasket gifts I was giving out. So disappointed. For such a small portion they didn't have to get our hopes up with the big box. The portion is barely the size of my hand. It looks bigger because it fell apart when I dumped it out of the packaging. I decided to not get mad about the size of the portion and just enjoy it. Then I literally almost choked to death on how dry it was. I'm not exaggerating. It was the driest salmon I've ever had in my life. And I am a major salmon seafood connoisseur. The box is kind of cool to put pins or cards or something in. So there's that. But as far as the actual salmon, I don't even know if it I could give it a 1 star. Live and learn. I'll definitely be saving lots of money on the next set of gifts that I have to make because this will not be going in it.
