Started off like any other Wed. Until about lunch time when this beaut arrived. Almost an exact match, this one was black instead of gray. Didn’t even take long to install! We all gathered around as our most qualified employee on flipping switches turns on the breaker to our air compressor. Then just like December 11, 1941. They bombed the Americans in a spectacular show of electrolyte, paper and smoke, it explodes. Sending the duty cycle into a labor frenzy that looked as if the compressor was Australia in January of 2020. Apparently they have a polarity that isn’t marked on this two prong capacitor.

I almost hate to blame the product for the continued motor problems. Not sure that I picked the right capacitor for the application. I installed the Capacitor and it seemed to work well for half a dozen start cycles. Is unfortunately on the 7th or 8th start the compositor blew out. I've done electric motor repair in the past but I'm no expert. I have not had a chance to look at the motor again so I'm just not sure where the problem is. I realized that is Not much help Rating this product but unfortunately that's all I can offer.

I had to buy this start capacitor as it was an emergency to get my unit up and running as fast as possible. Upon arrival, I noticed that this capacitor felt very cheap. It was made of plastic and was very light and felt hollow on the inside compared to other brands. It was working for a few days then it stopped working. I took a look at the start capacitor and the top blew off! Yes, the voltage and rating was all the same as the manufacturers recommendations.

Just what my compressor needed to start up again. Fit right in the housing. Solved the problem at a fraction of commercial shop prices. Watch the utube videos and purchase tester which will read the capacitors for working condition.
