Good quality worth price to me but some may feel it’s pricey.
Love these knives in many colors to choose from. Bright orange to see easily if dropped, otherwise I choose green which camouflaged itself when in the woods. Very sharp edge, comparable in price. Pocket size. Locks in place when in use.

Excellent...as always
I own or have given as gifts, dozens of these Opinel knives in assorted sizes. colors and scales. Never a complaint, a one-off bad knife or a blade that didn't arrive razor sharp and ready to use. IMO...Opinel is in the fine company of SAK/Victorinox and Mora as always reliable, top quality and affordable!

Almost Everything I wanted it to be
It's a purple Opinel. Nice blade with the twist lock and a beautiful purple handle. It doesn't do any tricks or have fancy G10 handles or rare wood inlays and it isn't supposed to. Also will be hard pressed to find a cop that would call this a weapon. Four stars because at 17 bucks the blade is somewhat thin compared other similarly priced knives. OKC, Tangram, S&W, Gerber, Tac Force and others may offer better solutions to carry around day to day unless your aim is to be the only guy in the room with a purple Opinel number 7 which is exactly why I wanted it.Update: So I hadn't noticed at first but there was a little flaw or nick along the edge of the blade. I pulled it through my little ceramic sharpener a few times and it has not fixed the burr on the edge. So that I don't like because the edge will no longer sit flat if I have to remove material to get it smooth. On the plus side, I am not unhappy with the thinner blade. For the size, this is a very light knife and much nicer to keep in the pocket than a similarly sized spring assisted TacForce knife I have. Of course I don't get the assist nor can it be flipped open with one hand. This knife still feels sturdy despite the thinner blade and there is no play if you try to move it. It also looks elegant once locked open. It is a better choice with slacks or suit pants. And the purple is really cool.

Iconic enough to warrant their inclusion.
Bought this for my wife. It’s a classic just like Case & Sons, but just made in France. Not everything made in the USA is worthy in my opinion. By that, I mean this knife isn’t over priced, so if she loses it or breaks it, it’s only $17, not $100. Secondly, it’s a great cutter with some awesome steel. You don’t need to be a saint to sharpen it like high end super steels! A few passes on a ceramic stone and it’s back to hair popping sharp. It’s also has a neat twist lock feature to lock it open and closed. Lastly, if you use it like a knife should be used, it will last. If you use it like a pry bar or an all around camp knife you risk breaking it. If you want a classic pocket knife that you can use daily for rope, fruit, and other chores, this is a great option. The color is just a bonus!

I love this knife. Others do as well.
This is a great knife to carry with you as well as to let other people borrow. The slide lock for the blade is great. The knife is great for others to borrow as well because they make sure they turn the lock before using it, making a great safe loaner. The thin blade profile is awesome for peeling apples and cutting task. The blade is very easy to sharpen and gets razor sharp. The weight of the knife is almost nothing and you forget it's in your pocket. If you pair this with one of those pocket clips, you will love it and definitely carry it everyday. My coworkers like the knife so much, that they are beginning to order their own.

Great Knife
These are great knives. They are high quality, lightweight, easy to use, and good for “My first knife” gifts too.

Beautiful little knife
I needed a small knife for sampling produce during inspections. Part of my job as a produce inspector is tasting all the things! The knife they provided was less than ideal. It was the typical push the lever to unlock, which puts your hand smack in the way of a sharp blade when closing it. The mechanism on this knife is much safer! It fits perfectly in my hand and nicely cuts tasty bits of fruit for me to enjoy. Hopefully it lasts. I carefully wipe it after each use, and hand wash it at the end of each shift.
