Q: Is this monopod solid enough to use as an extension for a Gimbal like the Ronin S?

I own a 3 axis Gimbal and I did not find that the tripod assembly was sturdy enough for video shooting.

Q: Is this solid enough to stand on its own? I’m shooting a wedding solo and was wondering if I can get this locked in place.

Yes, as long as you are on a hard surface. There is a lock for the ball to make it stable and the legs are fairly broad for a monitor but it's not as stable as a real tripod. I wouldn't leave my camera alone on it on grass for even a second but I'd be comfortable on carpet or a hard floor as long as no one bumps into it hard.

Q: Will the manfrotto tripod/monopod plates work on this monopod? I currently have a manfrotto setup and just wanted to add a backup monopod.

The fluid head on this monopod works with an Arca Swiss style plate. You can buy an adapter plate to work with the Manfrotto RC2 plate or simply use the Arca Swiss plate while using the monopod.

Q: Can you get extra mounting plate?

The package comes with two mounting plates, if you need more, feel free to cotact the seller.
