Is this product free from tree nuts, peanuts and shellfish as well as cross contamination from those allergens? (Asking manufacturer)

What's the difference between Belgium and Swedish pearl sugar?

The belgium pearls are slightly bigger than the swedish pearls. The belgian pearl allows itself to hold its crunch at higher cooking temperatures. The swedish pearls are usually used to top and decorate pastries and candies. The size may allow the crunch to disappear at higher temperatures.

Used this to make a liege waffle, recipe is perfect but my waffle coating seems to peel off, did you experiece this on your waffle maker?

No, but it made a major mess in my waffle maker. I had to take damp paper towels and try and get the carmelized sugar off. If your waffle maker was on the older side, I can see how it might remove the non stick coating.

Perfect for liege waffles

We use these all the time to make Liege waffles. They are the perfect amount of sweet and crunch when they are cooked.

This was just what I was looking for to make Liege Waffles. It was great quality and taste. I will definitely buy it again and recommend it.One thing I would not recommend, is the recipe on the back of the package. I made two different recipes with one bag. This one calls for brown sugar and milk. The batter wasn't a good texture or taste. So when you spend money on ingredients and time...I used one from "Butter Baking" and it had water and regular sugar. It was amazing.

Expensive for pearl sugar

The only thing I don’t like is the price.I use them to make Liege waffles, a Belgian delicacy! Good taste and works well but very expensive for what it is. Now I use regular sugar and that’s as good

Oh my GAWD! Devine!

Firstly, the sugar pearls are spot on. But secondly, the recipe on the back is amazing! I followed that one (I had tried others previously) and it was near identical to the ones I had on a river cruise in Europe. Which, incidentally, is where I was introduced to them. With homemade whipped cream (use vanilla paste) and fresh berries - soooooo good!
