UsThis transformer is fitted with long connecting wires, using with a Ring doorbell 2. It simply plugs into a close, standard, 120 volt electric outlet. Keeps the Ring doorbell 2 battery charged & allows for not needing to recharging the Ring battery. Having continuous power allows additional functions, “live view” & enables longer recording times. Our home is over 53 years since being built. It is already wired for a doorbell. The original doorbell stopped working, so I changed the existing transformer. Unfortunately the doorbell continued to not work. Not sure why the original stopped working but replacing the wiring was more than I was up to. Heck, I spent hours just trying to find the original transformer. After not being able to make a Ring doorbell pro work, I Decided to go with a wireless doorbell & thought why not keep one with a camera. Thus the Ring doorbell 2 was chosen. Found out the ring doorbell pro & the ring doorbell 2 have the same features, but the ring doorbell 2 also has a battery.. hooked up the ring doorbell 2 & it worked fine. Being cautious I thought I should get an extra ring battery. Given that the extra ring battery cost about twice as much as this transformer. Being lazy and frugal I decided to buy this transformer rather than an extra battery that would need to be recharged. Decided to install this transformer so it would be close to the ring doorbell & an electric outlet. Ran the wire along the top of about five feet of baseboard, then along the front door trim until I was about 4 inches from the door trim, on an inside wall, and opposite where both the original and then the ring doorbell was mounted. Drilled a hole through drywall and insulation & used a straightened wire clothes hanger to guide the transformer wire to the outer wall where the Ring doorbell 2 connection sites were & after connecting the wire provided with this transformer to the Ring doorbell It works great. To complete my project I secured e transformer using 5 wire clips, lastly I put a little putty in the hole I had drilled & painted to match the interior drywall. Darn fine job.. By the way this transformer also works with an original Ring doorbell as I gave one to an owner of an original Ring doorbell.

Purchased this a year ago and it recently kicked the bucket . I than tried to use reviewers recommended 24volt plug in transformer and ring wirewound resistor which wound up creating an unsafe hot! hot! charging environment for my device and home . I then tried another make 18v plug in transformer which turned out to be a dud . Finally went back to this brand plug in transformer and connected to existing wiring of 25ft with a total wire length of 50 ft and it still works . Brought up charge to 100 % overnight . Hopefully this will last longer than my original one did. Tip : I will be trying this for a while , I will charge to 100 % and than unplug transformer until Ring battery shows need to charge than replug transformer. This will still be much easier than removing ring device to charge battery and will extend transformer life . For extended periods such as vacations just leave plugged in. You can also look at a smart plug for even more convenience.

I used this power adapter to give my Ring Doorbell power, I ran it using some sticky clips to keep wire tidy and then connected to the wire I ran for my Ring Doorbell using some butt connectors. Make sure you DO NOT have this plugged in when making the connection with the butt connectors lol This could burn out the doorbell, the power source, shock you or at least trip the breaker. Camera has been working fine using this for a few weeks now.

Working great on my Nest doorbell. This one does not have grommets on the ends of the wires like another Amazon offering does but that one only has a shorter wire. I needed at least 25 foot so I had to order this one. Without grommets makes it a little less easy to install than the one that has grommets. This one is working fine at powering my doorbell.

I was on the fence about getting a Nest doorbell for years because I didn't want to have to get a new doorbell transformer and figure out the wiring and connections and all those complicated things. But then, enter this product, I literally fed the wires through a whole in my wall, connected it to my doorbell terminal, plugged it into my garage outlet and I was done. Seriously the easiest and fastest installation thanks to this thing. The only thing I think could be better is adding little metal pieces on the ends of the wires to make it easier to connect to the terminal.

Worked great to add another Nest doorbell camera in the garage. A friend gave me his old nest doorbell and I use just the camera functionality. The unit is white so matches my walls and looks less intrusive than the black version. It comes with a very long cord which you can cut to length. Very nice.

Doesn’t provide enough power to charge or even maintain the battery level on the battery version of the Nest doorbell. The doorbell cam indicates that power is connected and battery life should be infinite - however about a week later the camera shuts itself off due to low battery as if it wasn’t plugged in at all. I’ve tried several times to make sure, charging the Nest doorbell cam up to 100% with the factory charger before connecting up this power supply and still it manages to go dead in a week. Do not recommend - does not work

The unit plugged right in. The cord was long enough to reach up the wall, into the attic, above the breezeway and down the outside ways to the ring doorbell.

Works perfectly with Google door bell, my cable is around 40 feet long, no problem at all for power since i got it 2 months ago
