Awesome first DIY pedal build!
This was a great beginner pedal to build. I look forward to buying more kits from AmplifiedParts. I am a satisfied customer!

Awesome
This pedal was easy to build and sounds great. It also comes with a little book with other interesting pedals to build.

money spent better else where
Does what it says. There are a lot better products on the market I would spend my money on. no light, and no power supply port.

Its only OK
The components are kind of cheap. I wound up using a few of my own parts. The lack of a 9v in is a big negative. Good quality case though.Only sounds OK. More of a fun project than usable, for me anyway.

great beginners kit. great pedal.
amazing amount of boost. be careful with the bs170 transistor, as they are very sensitve to static electricity. easy kit. have a soldering gun? solder? get it.perfect compainion to my fender princeton

First looks...
We just received our DIY Piledriver. The kit seems complete and contains what seem like good components. The box is a let down though, the volume knob hole is about 1/4 inch off center. Stuff like this bothers me a lot. The kit should include an external 2.1mm power jack too. We'll see where we are after the build.

ModKitsDIY PILEDRIVER
This was my first DIY electronics project so I was pretty hesitant to buy this in the first place. bu t the instructions were easy to follow. I don't like the decal so I didn't put it on. Instead I just painted the box myself. As I said the build wasn't hard and it was pretty interesting too. Great boost for a $25 pedal. All my freinds keep asking me "what brand is that??"

Fun To Build, But...
I bought this as a self-serving gift for my dad's birthday: I wanted an excuse to try building a pedal and I figured my dad may actually find a use for a boost in his set up.I've only done some very minor soldering in the past but this was easy: the instructions were clear but the downside is that I didn't really get any insight into what function each component performs and how they all work together to do what they do. The other negative was that the included potentiometer had a ton of resistance and a lot of static when turning it - DeoxIT helped but didn't totally resolve the static. I should also note that I mounted the terminal strip to a piece of wood and did most of the soldering outside of the project box, which made things easier. As for performance, I've never used a boost before but the pedal doesn't seem like it does much until you turn the knob to about 3:00, at which point the boost becomes apparent at bedroom volumes and it adds some grit to notes. I haven't tried using the boost with any other pedals so I can't comment on how it plays with an overdrive, distortion, fuzz, or anything else. Now that I have the instructions I may try sourcing the necessary components and playing around with them to see what happens. I'd also like to add an LED indicator and a 9v jack. Also, FWIW I received the version of the pedal that includes a sticker for the top and the enclosure was painted primer white.
