Genuine Kohler part, easy installation
Having moved into this house recently, I've been finding lots of maintenance issues including a shower that wouldn't maintain an even temperature. My poor wife would go from being scalded to getting nothing but cold water without ever touching the control.I ordered two of these Kohler shower valves since I figured as long as I was going under the house to turn off the water I would do both showers at the same time.Watched a couple a three minute YouTube videos and went for it.Despite minor variations in the design of the valve and a lot of extra washers and screws included to make sure several variations were supported, removal and installation was easy and quick. Taking my time, both showers were done in 45 minutes.According to what I've read, these valves wear out in 7 to 10 years of use so to maximize the interval I purchased these genuine Kohler parts instead of some cheap knock offs on the premise that the quality is better. When did you ever get more than you paid for? Reviews tend to support that theory. So, if you've got a flaky valve, grab a screwdriver and a pair of pliers and go for it. You can do it and save a lot of money by not hiring a plumber!

No more slow leak from the shower/tub faucet
Worked as inspected. Replaced our cartridge that came with the house in 2004 and had started leaking. Came with all the parts needed for install (except tools). Took me about a half our to install, including multiple trips to the garage to get the right tools (my fault). I'm very happy with the result.

Exact replacement for old mixing valve
I was having trouble with my shower getting hot enough and had a few times where I couldn't get any hot water. This replacement kit worked perfectly for me. My old one had a date stamp of 1999, so I was a little nervous that this would work. It took a bit of effort to remove the old one since there was quite a bit of mineral buildup. Before installing the new one I cleaned up the brass as much mineral buildup as possible. I did buy some silicone grease separately as what they include is miniscule. The new parts installed easily and it's been working perfectly since. The shower handle now turns with minimal effort and I get the right temperature every time. The photos are of the old parts which this replaced.

Installation can be confusing -- so many washers and O-rings, oh my!
I have a couple of Kohler showers that are probably 50 years old. Both used the old-style brass spigot works. A few years ago, I replaced one with the new plastic version balancing unit and cartridge. Aside from the fact that the spigot handle now rotates less than 180 degrees (by design), the repair worked out fine.Time had come to repeat the repair on the other shower. This new kit includes the cartridge and mixer cap, plus a half dozen O rings for the cartridge. The cap portion uses three O rings which were already installed. Four of the loose rings were for installing the cartridge in different versions of the cup the cartridge fits into. Only two rings are used and must be inserted in oval indents in the end of the cartridge. The instructions do not make this clear, so refer to the many videos on Amazon and Youtube concerning this repair before you start.Getting the old cartridge out has always been a hassle. I had to pull the old one out by rocking it with locking pliers until it came free. I cleaned the inside of the cup with Scotch-Brite and 1000 grit sand paper and then coated the inside of the cup with silicone lube (get a separate tube or jar, as the included lube is about the size of a cold pill). The parts went together with no problem. The uncertain part of the operation has always been which side of the plumbing supplies hot water. Apparently, it is usually the right side. If you run hot water through the shower spigot for a few minutes before dismantling the fixture, you can feel which is hot. Label it so you know the next time. With any luck, the repair will last longer than your memory.

Replace Kohler GP76851 with dripping water
This cartridge can replace a variety of old cartridges. The most difficult step is to ensure that the replacement part is the correct one. I started to remove the assembly to the state shown in the first picture, which confirms that it is gp76851. You could search Kohler gp76851 cartridge replacement for an online help video. Then shut off the water supply. Once there is no water coming out the shower faucet, the old cartridge can be removed. One issue for me is to apply a litte twist of the face plate printed with Kohler name before pulling it away from the cartridge (see the 3rd picture of how the plastic face plate is connected to the mental base). The cold water connection is on the right side and the new part has a cold water label so I align it to the right. I did use extra silicon gel to lubricate all rubber washers. After the replacement, no more dripping water from the shower faucet. It is really easy to do the replacement if you know the replacement steps.

Shutoff the water main
I have Kohler Memoir series shower mixers(2). I ordered “Right Temp” cartridge #GP77759 and the Pressure Balance cartridge #GP80020. It wasn’t easy finding info on original cartridges. I YouTubed and found the right part. I ordered and got them the next day. The new cartridges are different from original. I had washers leftover. Definitely turn the water main off.

Shower works without dripping again, and it was an easy fix
Kit worked and was pretty darn easy to replace. YouTube video helped, of course.

Fixed my dripping shower
This seems to be a genuine Kohler valve. It worked to solve the problem of a dripping shower. I had first bought a cheaper knockoff here on Amazon and it dripped worse than the one I was replacing, so I returned it and coughed up the extra money for the Kohler.
