It does work, and it's not a bad set, particularly for the price.
Never occurred to me that airguns would need cleaning - there's no powder involved, so what's the point? But I read various forums that said you should absolutely clean them. So I bought this set, thinking I might as well. What you get is a 33" cable - not rod - that fits inside the .177 barrel. There is a brush and a mop for both .177 and .22. The cable isn't all that stiff. I had to really work at it to get the mop through the barrel - the handle isn't particularly useful for this, since the breech on my .177 is too small to get the cable into. I had to feed it in through the muzzle like you would with a rod, but pinching the cable to hold it and feeding it in about an inch at a time. Bit of a pain. It was surprisingly oily and dark when I got it back out, so cleaning was in order. Two nice things about this set - the handle is a hex receiver on one side, and they give you a set of six driver bits that fit it, so the handle doubles as a screwdriver. They give you a *big* flathead - probably for scope screws - that's 10mm wide, a regular sized flat and two phillips heads, and a 3mm and 4mm hex key bits. It's also kind-of usable as a t-handle to pull the cable through. But only kind-of, because having pushed the darned thing into the barrel by hand, you might as well just pull it back out by hand too.A problem with the handle is that one side is threaded, and the threads don't fit anything in the set. The brushes and mops thread into the cleaning cable, but nothing threads into that handle. Odd.Finally, it comes with little blow-through cleaning pellets - 15 of each, .177 and .22 - so you can blow those through like you would use a cleaning patch for a regular cleaning. It's not a bad set for the money if you're only cleaning air rifles once or twice a year.

Probably the best airgun kit you can find
I picked this kit up begrudgingly. I don’t like cleaning guns because a) most modern guns need very, very infrequent cleaning and b) over-cleaning is the #1 reason many barrels wear out ahead of their time. I also didn’t want to pay for a bunch of screwdriver bits that I saw as merely additional cost. (I have plenty bits of my own, after all!)Boy, was I wrong!Yes, I’ve used the cable to clear the barrel when I suspected a potential obstruction on an heirloom hand-me-down. And no, I haven’t used the swab more than once or twice. ...but this kit is now an indispensable part of my airgun range bag. The screwdrivers are my go-to for adjusting sights or even opening the whole thing up. The cotton pellets sold me on their use and I turned around and bought a bunch more. (Which all for back nicely in this case.) My Pelgunoil fits behind the plastic insert that holds the tools. In short, this is a very compact one-stop place for anything I need 99% of the time for my airgun. You are NOT going to regret this purchase.

Decent Starter Kit, But Not Perfect for My Needs
I bought this Umarex cleaning kit to use with my .22 cal Barra 250z PCP. It has most of the basics — a cleaning rod, brushes, mops, jags, patches, and an adapter — and it's a decent starter kit if you're looking for something all-in-one.However, I would have preferred if the kit included both a rigid cleaning rod and a flexible one. For PCP rifles like mine, a flexible rod or pull-through cable is often safer and easier to use, especially when cleaning from the breech. Also, the screwdriver and 6-bit driver set (two flat blades, two Phillips, one 3mm hex, and one 4mm hex) feel like filler. They’re not really necessary for basic barrel cleaning, and I would’ve rather seen that space go toward higher-quality cleaning components. The included rod is okay, but feels a bit flimsy under pressure, and the patches can be too thick for .22 unless trimmed. It works, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Easy to use and cleans well
Excellent cleaning kit for your pellet rifle barrel. This kit is used for .177 and .22 caliber rifles. Very easy to use and does an excellent job. Excellent value.

very dissappointed - do not buy
DON'T BUY THIS.There's a major issue that you'd never expect with this kit. Looking at the pictures and the brand - and the price - it looks like a great deal.I received all the parts as 'described'. EXCEPT there's a major flaw in execution. There are a swab and brush in each caliber (.177 and .22). There's a threaded handle. There appears to be an adapter. There's a coated steel cable with ends.1 - The threaded handle has theads that don't fit anything in the kit2 - The steel cable has ends - neither end is threaded - so you can't connect the swabs/brushes to clean inside your barrel3 - There's an adapter - but only seems to connect to the end of the .22 swab/brush - the other end doesn't fit anything else in the kit4 - Hard to spot, but there's six screwdriver bits - and no clear means to hook up to a screwdriver/handle - why include them??5 - There's a circular black plastic piece that the cable can slide into from the side (?) - but no idea how that is supposed to make this kit work6 - instructions?? did anyone think to at least show how these pieces fit together?? because if they took the time to do that they probably quickly realized that THESE PIECES DON'T GO TOGETHER and don't make cleaning your air rifle possibleSo - I'm now looking for another kit.Hopefully I can use the swabs/brushes from this kit elsewhere. This was a dozen bucks that could have been better spent on pellets.Happy shooting!
