Not horrible, just not the magic you might be expecting
Saw one at a friends house. Got these but the insulation behind the wall made them a bit tricky to use. Not horrible, just not the magic you might be expecting.

OK Customer
This product was sent to me fast and in good condition. One thing I discovered is that these can't be used on the structured walls of my condo, just the inside walls dividing rooms.

May not be name brand
Product came in a generic clear ziploc bag. No indication that these are the name brand Monkey Hooks. Otherwise they look fine.

These things are fantastic! My daughter was helping my wife hang a 30lb clock over our entryway, she drilled 3 holes in the sheet rock just before I walked in. Dug one of these out and accomplished the task in Seconds! Made her spackle and fix the holes before she Left! I ordered an assortment of 30 of these for future Hangings! I am an engineer and I wish I would have thought of this simple solution to a sometimes painful problem that can cause tension in a marriage when doing this with a spouse! Love these!!

Somehow found a way to make a simple task a huge pain
I walked into my local hardware store looking for an easy solution to hang a few towels on my wall. The Monkey Hook box caught my eye and as I was feeling a bit lazy so didn't mind shelling out the extra money to give the product a try. What resulted was a waste of time, money, and a huge pain. The Monkey Hooks themselves are little more than a silver piece of wire that you are asked to jam (by twisting and pushing) through your dry wall, with the hopes of ultimately and the wire as a u-shape into the back of the wall. This is actually the most impressive part of the operation because if done correctly (as in your dry wall has ample room behind it, you didn't pick a spot with a stud, and you didn't do too much damage to the wall while jamming it in) the product does hold in place nicely. Next up you are given some stickers to attach to small plastic hooks, all of which are pathetically small and surprisingly bad at holding things up on your wall. It is typically pretty hard to get the stickers to be taught against the wall, meaning that they slowly peel off (especially if you have anything even slightly heavy on the hook) and can easily pull off large amounts of paint or wallpaper with them. The best case scenario is that through much effort (way more than it takes to screw something in) you will get a janky, loose fitting hanger that will struggle to hold up anything that is too heavy. Worst case scenario is you will end up with a bunch of holes in your wall, peeled wallpaper and a hook that can't hold anything up.Don't use it, you're better off using dry wall screws at half the price.

Try Them Once and You Will Be Hooked !
The best hangers around for hanging anything in old walls. My house is 70 years old and has lathe and plaster walls with hard to find and off center studs so hanging a picture or a piece of art can be a challenge if it has to be in a certain place. But not with Monkey Hooks, they let you hang anywhere by gripping the inside of the wall tightly and only making a small entry hole. These hooks will hold up to 40 or 50 lbs but you can get lighter ones too. I highly recommend them, even for new homes.
