GREAT BED and Value!!!
A very Nice piece of Furniture. Was delivered on time and as promised.. It was snowing and the UPS guy helped me to put them inside. Only 2 boxes require 2 people.. more to do with the odd size than weight.. 1 Box was scary looking, with a few holes and could see wrapped wood due to shipping handling. However, the warehouse wrapping and packing for shipping was done right.. NO damage... and absolutely Beautiful!!Only complaints is the failure of the directions to say that the brackets on the dresser side need to be installed Before mounting. We had to take bed rails done and remount. Not difficult just time consuming.. another thing to note is if you wish too put a desk under the bed it is not as high as most loft beds so if you have a tall 12yo a study area under wont work well. We put 2 bean bags some led lighting to create the ultimate CHILL space.. for her and her bestie.. Our Daughter loves her new Tween room... she has a small bedroom and this does not overwhelm as much as the bunk bed we just moved out. Simple to put together. Plenty of storage. And .. Yes its real Wood!!! not laminate... or pressed wood..

Awesome Bed!
Okay so as my boyfriend put it..."you are a girl and I am an idiot and that wasn't bad."Having said that. This bed was super easy to put together as long as you use some common sense and actually pay attention to the pictures. Take your time and don't man-handle it.-There are 4 boxes. If the UPS guy doesn't have 4 boxes refuse the order. He may not be happy but it beats having useless boxes laying around your house. Having read reviews before my purchase I was aware that people were having an issue with getting all the boxes so I was prepared.- Open the boxes in order....to avoid confusing yourself open them one at a time. They are labeled 1 of 4 and so on.Boxes 1 & 2 go together to make the stairs. The sides of back-side of the drawers are not pre-drilled but pretty simple to just line everything up. Took a minute to figure it out but not too bad.Box 3 is the dresser and shelving unit. Already built for the most part. You just need to put the shelves on it. (whoever decided "hey lets just sent it built" is a genius. I was not feeling great about putting together a bunch of drawers and was ecstatic when I discovered I didn't have to. Not because I can't I just didn't want to.Box 4 is the actual bed part. Super easy. L brackets are not pre-drilled either but I can see why. Again easy enough to line it up.It takes about 4 hours to build and if it weren't for needing my boyfriend to hold pieces standing so that I could screw them together I would have been able to successfully build it myself. The opening underneath the bed is big enough to fit my 1 year old's crib which is why I purchased this bed to begin with. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment and this bed has made their room sooooooo much bigger. I pulled the crib out about halfway and created a little reading nook behind the crib with tap lights and all.So why 4 stars instead of 5? Well, the drawers not being pre-drilled was not awesome and actually took me longer to build it because I had to figure it out so to say. The instructions are just pictures. They are simple enough to understand but a couple places could have added more detail such as the drawers and when attaching the shelves you have to screw in from under the inside of the shelves. Don't man-handle it when building it. My boyfriend kept screwing things when he didn't need to and ended up damaging one of the wooden rails because the wood cracked. The far side wall where the stairs are could be better quality but is still sturdy. I trust my child on top of it is safe and my 1 year old under it is as well. I would buy this bed again and I recommend it to anyone trying to make more space for their kids.

Read before buying....
This furniture manufacturer is one of several under the umbrella of Stork Craft Manufacturing. The bed was fairly easy to assemble, but within the first few months of use by my high-energy 10 yr old daughter, the top rail developed a crack that eventually got to the point where I thought it was a safety hazard for her to sleep on top. I was disappointed over the quality of material, but I thought - hey - I'll just order a replacement part - how hard could that be, right? I was fully prepared to pay for the part, to boot. First off, it took forever to track down the manufacturer. Then, come to find out, the only place they paste the model# info is on the carton that the POS came in - no where on the bed itself! Without the exact model number PLUS a series of specific letters that would only be on the carton, the manufacturer was not able to SELL me a replacement part. They have the record of sale and known EXACTLY what they sent to me, but NO - I would have to come up with the model number to even get the time of day from these people. Here's my advice to potential customers...RUN! Run as far and fast as you can away from anything from Stork Craft. My only regret is that I had to give them 1 star instead of none!

Not worth the savings - structurally poor quality
The bed was not difficult to assemble and is attractive, but my daughter has been using it less then a month and we are already having structural issues. There were knots in the wood slats used for the guard rails and one has already cracked most of the way through the board as a result (3 cracks total). That is very concerning for a safety rail. Additionally the stairs do not have a back cross bar at the base and have become misaligned as she has opened and closed the drawers. They are not evenly spaced any more and come out of the tracks. We bought a similar bed from a local furniture for my other daughter at the same time for a couple hundred dollars more, and I am sorry we didn't just by two from them. It was not worth the savings because the quality is not what I had hoped.
