Q: does this come with blades, what is recommended?

Comes with 1 blade. Black and Decker make a nice 15 piece set. Bosch are also excellent. Stick with T shank blades.

Q: Will this be strong/accurate enough to cut the shape of a knife handled through a 2"x 10" x 1/2 inch think hard blog of jeans and fiberglass resin?

i just used this saw to cut out a knife handle from a 1x4. i think it'll do the job.

Q: Can you cut nails off of pallets?

You can if you put a steel cutting blade in it. This would be a very fine tooth blade but I recommend you wear safety glasses when doing this and be careful and go slow
