Works great.
I have bears getting up on the 2nd story deck on my house. Trying to get into the kitchen. This stoped them!Instructions were lacking on how to mount it.The eye bolt acts as a spacer so the firing pin does not strike the bottom of the primer with too much force. Even if you mount it differently, put the eye bolt in so the bottom won't shear off. Very important.Several people say it broke the first time they fired it. I bet that was the problem. My photo shows the unit with the safety pin still installed. It's easier to load with the unit mounted up like in the photo. If you go with it down, the primer falls out.It is hard to cock and get the safety pin in holding it in your hand. Screw it together in the eye bolt and it is easy to cock. Unscrew it then put the primer in. ( with the safety pin in) set the string then pull the safety pinout.Super loud. Just what I needed.

Works Well
Product works well. We did not use the eye bolt to attach the unit as we were camping and did not want to damage a tree. Instead it was fastened to a tree with strong zip ties leaving room for the safety pin and the ability to install the bottom piece with the primer cap. We used kevlar line around the perimeter of our camp attached to a stump and tied to the top pin. Do not use fishing line, it is too stretchy. Each morning, we intentionally triggered the alarm to lower the line. It is loud enough to scare off a critter or give a human pause. One reviewer said the pins for the firing hole and the safety hole are not interchangeable but they definitely are. We had no issues with attaching the split ring to the top. This is a good inexpensive product for safety while out in the wilderness. Easy to find the primer caps at a local sport shop.

It works
Works great. After watching several online videos I decided to purchase this. The safety pin is not easy to get all the way through so I use a nail in its place. I cut off the release pin leaving the straight section and most of the curved. This thing is louder than I expected. I use 209 primers in a muzzleloader and fire several after cleaning without a charge in the chamber. This is much louder I guess because of the size.

seems good quality
Have not yet had a chance to try it as you haven't been able to get 209 primers for some time now. Can't wait to be able to try this little thing out.
