What size are the tips

Dear Customer, Thank you for leaving a question here. The 926LED-III Digital Soldering Station (Orange) comes with 5 additional tips on top of the stock B-Tip. Type-I – Sharp conical shape for precision soldering, often used for cellphone/mac repair where components are extremely small. (actual edge diameter is less than 0.5mm) Type-B – Round conical shape for general soldering, probably the most used tip in soldering as it allows maximum contact between the solder pads and component pin in most of the solder joint shapes. (actual edge diameter is approximately 1.0mm) Type-K – Knife shape with bigger thermal mass for SMD rework, desoldering. Often used to quickly remove small resistors, PLCC components and more. (blade length of approximately 8mm) Type D – Flat shape for general soldering, often used in through-hole and many other types of joints. This product comes with the 1.6mm and 2.4mm variants of this tip, hence the name 1.6D and 2.4D. We recommend selecting the tip that will give you maximum contact to heat up both the component’s pin and the solder pad itself to obtain the best soldering results. You’ll need both the component’s pin and the solder pad to heat up sufficiently, so the solder can form a solid inter-metallic bond with the two, allowing electricity to go through. On top of that, we recommend using YIHUA compatible tips with a temperature setting of around 662°F （350°C）for most of the soldering applications, however, you can adjust the temperature higher based on personal preference. does it power down when the iron is placed back on the stand?

(Sleep timer setting : 0/5/10/30mins available). This means that it can be sent to Sleep upon the end of the setting time. How to achieve this effect? Do the setting and 5/10/30 mins after the soldering iron stays stationary in its stand, you will find the soldering iron goes to sleep. (0 means no sleep) Instead of the whole unit powering down, the temperature of the soldering iron, under the setting, drops down to a lower value to reduce the chance of unnecessary damage to the station and greatly save energy! When it enters sleep, 1. If the temperature was preset at between 90℃-250℃, the temperature will automatically go to 90℃ which will be maintained. 2. If the temperature was preset above 250℃, the temperature will automatically go to 200℃ which will be maintained. To wake it up, there are three ways to choose from: a. Shake the soldering iron up and down serveral times. b. Press once the the silver & black rotary knob (also a menu button) or c. Turn the power off and then turn the power on. why the solder doesn't melt at 600 degree? I thought temperature should had been at 450 degree F.

I originally had mine set to 600F and it melted Lead Free and Leaded Solder just fine. However, I now run it at 800F because it melts quicker for my soldering needs
