works well for hand-tightened filter
I've used it once so far. It removed my filter, but the grip was not tight. At first, it slipped on the filter before grabbing hold. I don't think it would work for a filter that was on too tightly. However for filters that are installed properly, just hand-tightened, it should work. The overall quality seems good. The brand name on the tool itself is Toolwiz, not Eastyard as shown in the Amazon listing. The Toolwiz part number is TFW0004

I tried everything.
Use this before you destroy the filter. But it also works on half mangled filters like the one I had.I first thought okay use the large channel locks that I have, nope didn't work. Then I went to town and bought the band wrenches, that didn't work. Then I went to the SCREW DRIVER METHOD. That FUBARed it and still it didn't budge. Then I threaded paracord through the hole and wrapped it around the filter. Then I tried tugging with a rachet strap. That started pulling it sideways. Didn't turn it at all.I gave up and ordered this. Once it arrived I had it off in 5 min. It was still hard stuck on, but after about 5 turns it loosened to hand turning.

Poor design, no teeth to grip filter
This does not grip the filter, at all! Purchased this in April, for my next oil change, and tried it yesterday. Fail!! Poor design and I would return it but the time has passed. Pass on this style, unless it has teeth to grip the filter. The added rubber does nothing but pop off.

Nice tool…and easy fix on how loose it is.
Yes it’s loose and slips off and you need to use 2 hands and maybe wish you had a third arm/hand coming out your chest(I have forever), but a simple rubber band fixes this problem and you can keep changing the rubber band if it fails. This fits in any/many positions on the bottom of a filter….which has like 36 sides. Getting a perfect fit one to fit the filter bottom and line up with the ratchet, now that’s a chore! And the strap type need a quarter turn to break free. This one will turn with a single ratchet click….for me anyways! Use it on the UTV and the car. Yet to try it on the vertical truck, but horizontal and upside down both work fine. Put a rubber…band on it!…..or 6

Perfect for my Onan Generator oil filter.
Oil Filter in a tight spot, makes it easy to remove.

Just ok
Just ok, worked for a not so hard to remove filter, it's always making the right size. This just started to crush the very stuck filter, plan B

Very easy to use, works well
Pretty impressed with this clever gadget. I had an oil filter that I couldn't remove by hand, using all my grip strength. I had other types of removal tools, but they either didn't fit that size of filter or didn't grab at a good angle for its location. With a ratchet and an extender, this worked perfectly. At first I thought it wasn't grabbing the filter, but then I realized the filter was turning - it's just that the added leverage made it so easy that I thought it was slipping. It also fits the filters for both of the family cars (very different diameters). Seems well built, but I'll update this review if I have any problems with durability.

Worked great for what I needed it for!
If your oven is like mine and has those really thick glass covers for the interior lights, you know that over time they can become about impossible to unscrew so you can change the bulb. So, I got this filter wrench and picked it because of the rubber tips. Put it on a ratchet and with just a bit of force, the cover became loose enough to unscrew by hand. I could not get the covers off before I got this. The rubber tips give a good grip without danger of breaking or scratching the glass.
