Great Collection...
This collection of Jaleco games is worth it for your Evercade. There are a couple of NES games here that were pretty good back in the day. Bases Loaded alone is worth the price of the cartridge. It was the greatest baseball game of the 8-bit era. If you have an Evercade, you owe it to yourself to buy this collection.

Great game
Love the game and was received quickly. I will absolutely buy from this seller again, the game itself was almost double the price everywhere else but this seller sold it for what it costs and it's nice to see this. Definitely give this seller your attention

Many rough edges but fun and interesting games
Jaleco were not a shovelware developer, but few regard them as a top-tier developer either. They had their highs and lows, but few of even their best games stuck in the cultural consciousness. This compilation features several of their best games, several of their most successful games, and several that are just kinda strange! Let’s dig in.Astyanax: an NES Castlevania-esque game with some weird monsters, this is neither as brutal as the Evercade’s other Castlevania knockoff 8 Eyes nor as polished visually and sonically. But if you can get past some really rough enemy movement patterns and animations, this will keep you entertained for quite a while.Bases Loaded: the Evercade’s only baseball game so far, this NES hit was probably Jaleco’s biggest name. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t hold up as well as Sega’s or EA’s baseball games from the 16 but generation.Brawl Brothers, Rival Turf: These two entries in the Rushing Beat series are Final Fight knockoffs with mixed reputations. The Evercade already has a lot of good brawlers, but these hit my nostalgia buttons, since they’re what my broke friends could afford from Blockbuster’s ex-rental bin. I think these are great fun and honestly I’ll take them over the NES and SNES ports of Double Dragon any day.City Connection: this unquestionable arcade classic combines the painting mechanic of Evercade standout Super Painter and the constant motion of Evercade classic Mappy, plus a little cops and robbers, into a game that really becomes addictive if you give it a chance.Earth Defence Force: broke younger me bought this game from a Blockbuster resale bin. I still have it. I wasn’t a shmup expert when I played this as a kid. I didn’t even have a Turbografx yet, and for some reason I never played any of the Genesis’s best shmups. Honestly I’m still not an expert, but I have a lot more experience with what has become a favorite genre. And sadly this did not live up to my memories. It’s gruesomely difficult and many of the weapons don’t seem useful. (Homing and homing laser are the only weapons I really like.) It’s also very plain and generic compared to the likes of R-Type or Axelay. The leveling mechanic (which carries across continues!) and efficient use of your options are both pretty interesting aspects and make this well worth playing - it just doesn’t stand with the best, and I had hoped it would.Super Goal! 2: I admittedly haven’t played this yet, but it seems like the most average and generic soccer game imaginable, even moreso than World Class Soccer on the Piko 2 collection.Totally Rad: this is kind of sort of a Mega Man takeoff? It looks outstanding for the NES, but has a very convoluted magic system that really takes some effort to learn. Enemies move fast and erratically and you only have a few hits before you die. The over the top valley lingo is pretty funny but gets overwhelming. Not a lost classic, but I’m going to keep trying to figure it out.Operation Logic Bomb: another game I bought from the Blockbuster discard bin, and this one DOES live up to my memories. This overhead run and gun shooter is not too hard, not too easy, and a ton of fun. I have not played it since I was a teenager and was very pleasantly surprised to find myself liking it every bit as much. The Game Boy classic Fortified Zone, which I played on the 3DS eshop, is another game in this series and I hope a future Jaleco collection includes it.Ignition Factor: my favorite game here, admittedly mostly because I like firefighting games. I think this and City Connection were the only Jaleco titles I bought on the Wii Virtual Console. This is a very strange game where you are powerless to save everyone. The clock is ticking and one way or another the fire you’re fighting is going to win. You have to do whatever you can to save whoever you can through giant, maze-like factories, deep mine complexes, and more. There’s no real music in the game, and that makes it more atmospheric to me. It’s not the most personality-filled game while you play it, but if you can make it through the eight challenging fires (which will take you a lot of retries and save states) you will be rewarded with one of the strangest endings ever seen in video gaming...So that’s what’s here. There are lots of other great Jaleco games, like Exerion, Avenging Spirit, Fortified Zone, the Last Ninja, Shatterhand, the Peacekeepers, Pinball Quest, and more. Even though I don’t think this is one of the best Evercade collections, I do enjoy it a lot, and I’m really hoping for a followup.
