Q: Can you mount the surge protector and then install the cover later or is it necessary to have at the beginning

You can mount it later as long as you mount the surge protecter flush with your wall surface. Surge protector comes with the face plate mounting fasteners (female threaded inserts) already installed. Just be careful to keep hole you cut in the wall as small as possible--the faceplate is not very large.

Q: What all CH surge protectors does it work with? Ultra, Max, Micro........

It works with all three of the Eaton type 2 surge protectors (Ultra, Max, Micro).

Q: Where the wires long enough to reach into the panel after mounting the surge protector?

Yes. YOU MUST PLAN AHEAD, however. Long leads defeat the purpose of this equipment. Specifically, you'll need to mount the unit adjacent to your power panel, and you will need to inspect the panel to predetermine which breaker you can best access. If you are Harvey Fumblefinger, hire a professional.

Q: Does the kit include the workbox that is needed to mount flush with wall? If not, what size workbox would I need to purchase?

The kit is only a flat piece of metal with a cut out for the surge protector body. It attaches to the wall with four screws. Their is no box included.
