How is this lamp holding up? Is it still working after months and years? HD seems to carry one that looks identical but w/horrible reviews.

Two years ago, I bought & installed 4 of these lights: 1 by front door, 1 by back door and 1 on each side of the garage. I love them! Once I adjusted the sensitivity to the way I wanted each one, they work perfectly. They turn on for motion at dusk and turn off at dawn. btw, installation was easy. I'm not an electrician but I do light electrical when necessary and each light took about 15 minutes to fully install

How is this lamp holding up? Would like some feedback from anyone who has had this light for a year or more please.

I have been using this model in two locations for about 20 years. In all I have bought six, having just replaced the two, keeping a used still working one as a spare. I guess I could say they last about 10 years or more. Of the failures, two would not turn on at night (motion detect failed) and one turned on at dust and off at dawn (photocell only operation). Mine are polished brass, so after 10 years the finish is breaking down. This model has the option to be wired to control the on/off of all downstream lights on the same circuit. i.e. When this lamp lights, all non-Photo/non-Motion lamps downstream turn on with it.

Does this fixture have to be wired in, or does it just plug in to outlet?

The lamp is designed to be wired and mounted to an outlet box placed inside a wall. I suppose that you could connect a cable with a plug to the lamp using the included wire-nuts but then you wold also need to provide a back plate in the place where it would normally mount to the wall. The lamp does not come with a stand for it to sit on a table. The 'handle' that hangs from the bottom is an optional decoration that is only there to look impressive. I have installed several of these motion-activated lamps around the house. They work great and are even triggered by a small dog from about 20 feet away.

What is the dimention from the center of the electrical power supply box to the very top of this unit?

I have it at 6/12 inches from the center of the power supply box. If that is tight for you. You can remove the top cap of the light and the light works fine. It was very easy to install. The motion sensor also works great and is very handy
