Magic Sleepsuit Baby Merlin's 100% Cotton Baby Transition Swaddle - Baby Sleep Suit

Dont really write reviews but i thought this maybe will be helpful for other sleep deprived parents. I was very sceptical when i ordered this suit. My daughter is a fussy one and if she is not comfy she will not sleep. Period. Scream the house down and not sleep. She is 6 months and i was still swaddling her. I bought this product with the frame of mind that will be added to the pile of wasted money. How wrong was i?! She loves it. Doesn't quite sleep through the night but wakes up twice and then straight back to sleep. Worth a try peeps. If you are struggling to transition from swaddling try this. You may be pleasantly surprised.

We needed a larger size for my chunky monkey so ordered large even though he was only 3 months.Very good product, helped to transition from swaddle.Only thing I’d like to see different is the care label as to whether this can be tumble dried as it does take a while to dry with it being so thick.If I did it again I’d buy two of these to allow for drying

I was slightly skeptical about this after reading so many mixed reviews, but decided to go for it as a good night's sleep is worth any money to me at the moment. Our 4 month old was resisting the swaddle, but if we unswaddled him at night his arms were flailing around and thrashing all night long. This suit is the perfect transition from swaddling. He can still move his arms so he is happy, but they weigh them down so he is very still whilst sleeping. He still wakes up every 2 hours (which he always has done) so it's not a miracle maker, but so much better than a growbag. Highly recommend as a swaddle transition!

I bought this a day ago for my six month old who has very severe eczema. It arrived swiftly and I’ve tried it only once but already have mixed thoughts.First I’ll go into the reason I bought this for my poor itchy, wiggly little boy. Basically I noticed yesterday when he had an accidental nap in his snow suit (we got home and I couldn’t get him out of it as he was hungry, tired and upset so decided to leave him in it!) that he barely wriggled or scratched/rubbed himself compared to the usual nightmare we have at sleepy times. He always wears gloves but they don’t stop him from rubbing at himself and he is always wriggling to itch his body, and it drives both him and me insane. For the first time ever, yesterday he was relaxed. I suspect his snowsuit sort of blocked him from being able to get to his skin with his hands as it cushioned him a lot to create a barrier, so he gave up. He napped for three hours straight, which has NEVER happened before.I remembered reading about this magic suit before and thought I’d give it a try, to act as an anti-scratch ‘blocker’ much like his snowsuit did. Putting my little itchy inflamed baby in a warm thick suit goes against my instincts to keep him in cool breathable cotton, so I guess that’s why I never thought to try something like this before.I’m grateful that the order arrived quickly even by prime standards, as it meant I got to try it on baby tonight at bedtime. Unfortunately though my baby’s legs stick halfway out of it and it was very tricky to get his arms in as his wingspan is nearly too wide for the suit. I know my baby is taller and broader in the shoulders than average but I wasn’t expecting a 6-9 months suit to be so small on him. The measurements seemed OK on paper. I also can’t understand why this is the largest size - what if you have a larger than average baby?! It makes no sense. Please please make larger suits. I understand this is not for older babies but not all babies will fit in this even at the recommended ages.The suit itself is nice soft fabric and it is pretty thick so make sure you do use this in a cooler room etc and monitor baby’s temperature carefully to check your baby doesn’t overheat. I have been extra paranoid and frequently feeling his chest and belly or back every now and again to check he isn’t too warm, but my room is quite cool and my baby prefers to be a bit wrapped up so I don’t think the thickness will be an issue, I’m just being cautious.The suit sort of ‘pins’ your baby down a bit due to the thickness which I suppose is the point of it, but I could tell my little one didn’t like it very much, in fact he cried for a few minutes after I put it on him - which was a struggle as it’s almost too small - but then he fell asleep haha. He was very tired so not sure yet if that was down to this product or not.I can’t imagine doing frequent nappy changes in the night with this thing on. It’s a real nightmare to get on especially seeing as it’s smaller than expected.I will update this review in time, with info such as how long the suit lasts us before baby grows completely out of it, and how we got on with it sleepwise etc but for now it’s only three stars from me as I’m super disappointed about the sizing as I feel like I wasted my money a little.
