"“Best shoes I have ever worn. I actually get excited about putting them on each day.” – Douglas M. HFS II – A New Take On Our Most Popular Running Shoe An evolution of our best selling road running shoe, the HFS II is even more comfortable, and more stylish. While we call it a road runner, we know you’ll do much more in it and can’t wait to see the pics of where it takes you and what you do. Light, Grippier, and Comfier Like the original HFS, the HFS II is super lightweight (8.3 oz, M9) so you’ll feel like you’re flying down the road. And with a new tire tread-inspired outsole, you’ll feel secure even if you go off road. HFS II is so comfy, you might forget to take them off at the end of your run – we’ve even had people go to bed still wearing their shoes because they forgot they had them on! We Haven’t Sole-d Out 🙂 The HFS II sole looks thick, but it’s an illusion. We’ve added a thin BareFoam™ layer for extra protection and wrapped it, cup-like, around the upper giving the HFS II a more familiar-looking profile. Made to Last Like all Xero Shoes, the HFS II has a 5,000 mile sole warranty to outlast typical running shoes that are supposed to be replaced after 200-500 miles. Why HFS? Well, it could be for the “Highly Flexible Sole” that lets your foot move naturally, or the face you’ll make when you put it on — “Happy Face Shoe” — or the way you run in it with a “High Frequency Stride”, or what you exclaim when you put it on and feel the comfort and light weight: “Holy ___ ___!” There are as many possible answers as there are things you’ll do in the HFS II. WE MAKE PERFORMANCE SHOES SO COMFORTABLE, YOU’LL FORGET THEY’RE EVEN ON. If your feet don’t feel as good at the end of the day as they did in the beginning, you haven’t tried the HFS II. Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from letting your feet do what’s natural – bend, move, flex and feel. All Xero Shoes feature a wider, foot-shaped toe box that lets your toes spread and relax, a non-elevated “zero drop” heel for proper posture, low-to-the-ground design for perfect balance and agility, and a flexible sole that gives you “just right” protection so you can bend, move, flex, and Live Life Feet First!"

surprisingly good shoe.
I wear 11.5's, not the biggest shoe but carrying full size shoes in my backpack takes a lot of space but I still wanted some lifting shoes for the gym instead of my work boots / sneakers so I settled on these...The big surprise was realizing these were straight up so comfortable AS IS I just wear these everywhere now. They are my walking / hiking / everything shoes now (except work).Really nice shoes, the price seems right as well I don't feel like I'm over paying but also don't feel like it's a huge bargain either - it's just right. Can't say much about durability that takes months to figure out... they are very thin so time will tell if I walk right through them but for now I'm so impressed.

Outstandingly comfortable and all-around shoe
I have the previous version of this shoe as well. Both run small in size. Get a 1/2 size bigger than you normally would. The HFS II is very different from the original. Do *NOT* think this is an upgraded or improved or better shoe than the original. It's night and day. The original is an outstanding BAREFOOT running shoe with a very thin sole through which your feet can actually feel the surface of the ground. I love running in those shoes but they are tiresome walking around in all day for hiking or city walking. The opposite is true with the HFS II. The sole is clearly stiffer, possibly slightly thicker too. It's an awesome shoe for the whole day for minor hiking, city walking, going to work or going out. It's also dressy enough to use for social events. But for running, it's a big NO for me because there's no barefoot feel to them. IMO...

Awesome show but a little narrow
As much as I love what the brand stands for, the toe box is so narrow. I have several different brands of zero drop shoes for better feet but these were just too narrow and I don’t even have wide feet. Particularly right at my pinky toe was getting folded in. I wear a cheap pair of whitins for work and honestly the toe box on those is just what I look for. It’s a shame cause they look awesome and are a great value compared to my expensive altras. And the insert they come with has great comfort. Overall is you have narrow feet these will probably work great for you or if your looking for a high performance application I guess but try to find them in wide

Great shoes
These shoes are great. They fit very well and have a large toe box. The build quality is excellent as well.If you’re looking for a barefoot shoe, I would give these a try.

Very comfortable and good price
Wear them every day which is over 100k steps a week. The toe box could be a smidgen wider but other than that no complaints

Significant change in fit between releases...
These are the second pair of Xero shoes that I've bought. I bought these because I loved the first pair, but there have been some significant changes in the design that leave a cramped toe box and more pressure on the sides in a way that are causing hotspots (loss of 1 star) due to a poor fit. I might have given this a higher rating, but in my mind reducing the toe box in a barefoot shoe is a BIG MISTAKE by the company in my mind (loss of 2 stars). There is NO VALUE (loss of 1 star) when a barefoot shoe is this expensive & tightening the toe box, to me that is one of the cardinal sins of Nike & other major shoe companies. After this I plan to explore the running shoes by "Real Foot" in the UK instead.

best allround barefoot shoe
I love these shoes so much I bought a pair for work and a play/excercise pair. They fit perfect, decent toe box, zero drop and they do give you a barefoot feel on trails and comfy on pavement. Im new to the barefoot scene so they do make my feet a little sore at work cause im concrete all day so I got a pair of lems which have a thicker sole just for work. But for trails and exercise these are my go to's

Comfortable But Disappointing…
This was my second pair of Xero shoes and I was left a little disappointed. I don’t even run in them and in under two months of just walking, the bottoms started to develop several bare spots. They’re extremely comfortable and fit true to size, but I can’t recommend them if they are not durable at all.The Xero Nexus Knit treated me much better.
