Our History
Detroit Michigan 1946 Engineers Frank Cotter and G. Howlett Davis utilize the natural insulating power of the air to create a permanently sealed double wall tumbler to keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for longer. This innovation will transform the drinkware industry forever. Combine the last three letters of each of their last name, Cotter and Davis Christened the company "Tervis".
The tall cylindrical tumbler immediately transferred itself to a state of home to accept the spirit of the Sun, who purchased the product rights to Tervis in the 1960s, who loved the sun, captures the interest of entrepreneurs, and moved it to embrace all the outdoor activities the Southern and Southern has offered.

Today
Tervis now offers a full line of tumblers, water bottles, sippy cups, wine glasses, original licensed designs, emblems and accessories. The third generation family-owned business now employs more than 900 employees to celebrate 70 years of success.
