Welcome to Weaving: The Modern Guide Hardcover – January 28, 2019

Great book! I would say if you've never ever ever heard of weaving or watched any videos, I don't know that you would be able to follow necessarily, but come on people, we all know when someone is interested in something they start research and watching instructional videos way before they buy a book over it. Do your part and while your supplies and book are on their way, look at terminology, join Lindsey Campbell's Facebook group and look at the community to learn terms and techniques, watch some videos on YouTube. The book is definitely helpful, and very inspiring. I've never weaved before, just seen others do it. And you can see I'm getting it down pretty easily! I finished reading this book while I was waiting on my Beka Deluxe loom to arrive. And I ended up going ahead and buying her second book too! They make a great conversation piece for your coffee table too, they don't stick out weird, they are well made books! And highest praises to Lindsey and her team because usually when you buy a hardcover book (Say.....Homebody by Joanna Gaines) you think the photo printing you see online is going to be the actual hardcover, then you get it and realize it's a book sleeve. This is a huge pet peeves of mine. Luckily Homebody was a beautiful book without the sleeve. But I didn't have to worry about that with this book, it has no annoying and useless sleeve and I love it!!!

I preordered this months before it was released and it was worth the wait! Visually, it's a beautiful book with matte pages (perfect for taking notes in if desired), binding that with some use will allow you to leave the book open while you use the techniques, and a ribbon bookmark.The content itself is great too- Lindsey does a great job explaining with pictures and words how to execute each technique from beginning tabby to adding embellishments like gold leaf. As a word of caution, it does include a couple of specific projects to get started and practice the techniques but if you're looking for instruction on how to make an exact replica of various tapestries, this is not the book for you. For instance, the pillow project on the front cover is in the book, but it simply tells you "When you have completed your tapestry to the desired size of your pillow...". Personally I prefer it this way as it gives me the reader creative license to make my own designs, and Lindsey covers enough techniques to where I feel unlimited to what I can accomplish on the loom.Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a creative outlet. Weaving is methodical, meditative, and with this book approachable and requires just a few basic supplies to get started. Give it, and this book, a try!

Being new to weaving I have purchased several books on the subject. Each one was of some help but, they all left me with questions. They describe techniques etc that seemed to have something missing. I felt like I would have to take what was taught in one book and look through the others for clarification only to find that the information wasn't covered in any of the other books at all. Then finally, Lindsey's book was available. I was so excited to get mine. I was not disappointed and the book is even better than what I was hoping for. If you can only buy one weaving book, this would definitely be my recommendation. It is very well done. Now, I look forward for her second book to be available and I will not think twice about purchasing it.

Lindsey Campbell is an accomplished Weaver of all things lovely. "Welcome to Weaving: The Modern Guide" is an exceptional book of resources. From the beautiful cover to all of the photos within, I was not able to read or turn pages fast enough.... I am new to weaving and I love it so much; thank you Lindsey. I highly recommend this perfect book to anyone wishing to learn the craft of weaving. It is for the beginner and most advanced weavers alike. This is the weaving book you’ve been looking for.When I started weaving about a year ago, I searched for a book that would explain tools, materials and techniques in real detail. A proper primer, an instruction manual, effectively a weaving bible. What I found was a lot of books that did this halfway and then plunged into a lot of projects, half of which seemed loosely connected to weaving at best. But Lindsay’s book is everything you could ever want in a weaving manual. Throughout, it is filled with her natural charisma and charm and eye for detail. Every technique is explained fully, with no assumptions made for ability, and with clear step by step images.It’s no wonder they’re having her make a second book!

Lindsey Campbell is one of the best Weaving Teachers in the game. I love the layout of the book, the beautiful photos and the how to projects. This is my 2nd book of hers

I am new to weaving and wanted to try it as a hobby. I found the Hello Hydrangea website and ordered a loom and this book. I am so happy I did. This book is an excellent way to learn the basics and the foundation of all the knots of the different weaves that you can do. I like the projects that are included, perfect for a beginner. I am really happy with my purchase.
